#1 top rated interpretation:I'm old enough to remember protest songs from the 60s and 70s. This definitely strikes me as a protest song, regarding the current state of America today. But a fairly mild protest song. Touches on fear dictating actions, the difficulty we're all having sorting out the truth. And for me any jabs at Trump, intentional or not because after all music is up for individual interpretation, is okay-"making love to the devil hurts" and "breaking all those promises made". And who can argue with "times are changing"? Whether your conservative or liberal take a look at how times are changing and take respinsibility for them. Thats what I get from the song.

America is frustrated with corrupt politicians who have broken promises and think they can walk on water. They're frustrated with the blood lust of a seemingly never ending holy war. Its letting these politicians know times are changing. America is angry to the point where they will take a shot in the dark in order to shake things up.

#3 top rated interpretation:Bunch of easily offended brats on this site. The songs meaning is a good one, pointing out the divide in our nation. Not really a fan of the songs sound, but the message is alright. Not 30stm’s best song by far, kinda seemed like they just had to realease a song for a contract, either way decent message and decent sound. P.S. no one really cares if you never want to listen to this band again for this song. People fear what they cannot understand.

Looking at the lyrics after Trump is out of office and kept more promises than past politicians have made; it has never been about Trump. Simply there is God. Jesus who walked on water. This is who we inspire to be but know we never can. We are flawed but try to be as close to God as possible. This is about Devil worshipping elite business, political and Celebrity pedophiles that lie to hide their intentions. They believe they are Gods amongst us. We will take a shot in the face of fear. We will have our fists up in the firing line of these Covid fear campaign, Global, Cabal, Illuminati human traffickers who have shown their hand in wanting to control the world by bankrupting our economies and causing all the wars on Gods earth. Btw Muslim’s and Christian’s are praising the same God with a different interpretations. God wants Jerusalem to be the centre of all religion. Only Evil Disbelievers of God would create a war between Gods children.

Well how I take it (and I could be wrong) is how a lot of people these days do bad things in the name of God/their God (ex.false prophets. Like Westbro Baptist Church) , and they say they are doing something holy.
Me, being a Christian, I like the song and I hope it’s not taking a stab at my religion haha. I’m not trying to be all sensitive and I’m sorry if I offended any of you.
Times are changing, because the people are fed up with liars and manipulators (I’m not naming any).

I am not sure those of you who think this is about POTUS 45 are accurate. I’m a supporter and even volunteered for his campaign in my state don’t don’t call me a fair-weather supporter. Why would they ask “do you think you can walk on water” to me or even POTUS if directed at him? Thinking about it from both sides it could be asked of the left though, think about it, they’re the ones who haven’t stopped trying to get him out of office, from day one, when he won the delegates, so maybe it’s about, or the deep state. As someone said in an earlier post (because of arguing on here) this is the reason why they wrote the song, and I agree!

This sound just sucks. I'm politically aligned with this band, yet they didn't go there with the message or the sound of 30STMS. It's time to speak out fully or shut up. There isn't a middle line that will sell millions of sucky albums for the 2 brothers left that make up the entirety of this "band". Releasing the news that it's only the "Duo" left on the eve of their tour was beyond shady. I'd been a fan since the inception, the first group to make up the Echelon, as silly as that name now feels. Before Tomo, but not after. The album just sucks. Bragging about owning Uber, AirBnB, and Nest stocks while trying to sell an album, acting rolls, the horrid Gucci fashions, and the line of merch with ridiculous wording like Kylie and Oprah? Someone's either lost their mind or never had one. They also lost their band, and fans. Horrible live show. Walk the Moon embarrassed the 2 brothers, and I wasn't even a fan of theirs before comparing them to a click track arrogant narcissistic egomaniac. I'd met Jared and overlooked it from the get go. This was humiliating. They pretty much gave tickets away. 2 for $30 and those were SEATS that weren't even full. They got one thing right, times are changing. Don't worry about threatening to delete the band. The 3 guys that made it a band were all sent packing. Shannon even claimed one drowned. No, that's America's sales charts and your ticket sales. Good luck selling that ugly ass merch while strutting the even uglier Gucci items. Yes, I'm really a bleeding heart liberal snowflake puppy rescuer.

This is a liberal song acting like they have a view that everyone should have when in fact they're view is the most un-American and very hypocritical. They show pictures of president Trump as if he is an insider and haven't kept his promises...both very inaccurate, both sides spent millions trying to bring him down and he's done more already then the last 4 presidents combined. Holy war? They are literally saying that Christians are at war with Islam when in fact it's the other way around. If it came down to it the right Would win the fight tonight EASILY.

Mr. Leto and TSTM are walking a fine line with this song, no doibt in my mind the main question(s) posted are directed at Trump, and few others.
Yet, done so, whether due to sincere optimism or a shrewdly marketable approach, is widening the 'us' in Us vs Him to include more than just the typical coastal libs.
Think Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen, John Cougar Mellencamp all pulled in fans from the left, right, and everyone in the middle while all appear to lean left.
If it comes from a genuine space, as someone who sees little difference between both sides, my personal interpretation is that, despite our differences, we're going to be okay. And while many of us may not be fans of Trump but are okay with the change(s) that got him there, there was only One who could really walk on water...and don't for a moment think you're Him. -
