It is about 2 kids who have been hurt but when they are together they just seem to feel better and they had begun to rely on each other

Safety Pin, in the beginning, it says : [ run aways were the long lost children] this means there are two or more kids, preferably kids ages 13-18, teenagers basically, who don't feel accepted by anyone, maybe at school, or there lonely and have no friends, or someone who they loved left them. So they feel heartbroken. Broken boy meets broken girl, means that a boy and a girl with a broken heart finally meet each other for the very first time. "They've tried it all before, and it only makes it worse" is telling that maybe they've tried things with other people but it only got worse, until this time. At Ashton's solo, it says "only you can cure my sickness" that means that only the boy and girl can make each other feel better and forget about their broken past, and that no one else makes them feel that happy but each other. The whole song is basically about two teenagers who are heartbroken and patch up the holes in each other's hearts , so they will feel much better and end their depression.
