The Jack Lyrics

She gave me the Queen
She gave me the King
She was wheelin' and dealin'
Just doin' her thing
She was holdin' a pair
But I had to try
Her Deuce was wild
But my Ace was high
But how was I to know
That she'd been dealt with before
Said...

She's got the Jack (aka She's got the Clap) are songs about Bon Scott catching Gonorreah from a woman who lied about being a virgin. Both "the Clap" and "The Jack" are Australian slang terms for STD's... The term "The Clap" specifically refers to Gonorrhea. Almost all ACDC songs have variations to them, even when done by ACDC!; but this song is one that probably has the most variations. "The Jack" was originally known as "The Clap." This was released in Australia in 1975 on their second album, T.N.T. Their first 2 Australian releases were combined to form High Voltage in 1976, which was their first album released worldwide. On the live version of this song, Bon Scott sometimes would share with the crowd a more direct set of lyrics than the one on the recording. This can be heard on AC/DC's 1978 live album If You Want Blood, You've Got It. AC/DC played this before a crowd of 500,000 at show in Toronto in 2003. The concert, which also featured The Rolling Stones, Rush, and others, was a benefit for the city, which suffered a drop in tourism due to the spread of a rare disease called SARS (Sudden Acute Respiratory Syndrome). AC/DC had no problem singing about one disease at a benefit for another, and the fans didn't mind either.

I'm setting the record straight The Jack yes has two different lyrics to it, the studio version which was also done live at atlantic studios and the live version that we all love anyway. It's a slang for gonorrhea in Australia and bon who was promiscuous must of caught it from this girl. Now knowing that bon got in trouble for swearing before he made a double meaning on the studio version to make it seem like a card game when there were sexual references like "she never had a full house" "my ace was high", if I knew what she was dealing out... come on people! Live versions they did the true meaning of the song because they didn't care it was live except on the live at Atlantic studios where they had to make it the studio version because it was on national radio they would get sued a lot of money. Come on people it's SEX! AC/DC is the greatest band of all time you guys just don't know!

It's about Bon (or Brian) catching Gonorreah from a girl who claimed she was a virgin. When you first listen to the song you think it's about a card game but its not... You kinda get the song more with Brian's live version of it.

Everyone got STD’s in the 70’s and Played Cards. The song is a Sexual History Lesson narrated by a Professor Bon Scott.

My Interpretation is far from any disease. It's just for the pure joy of the words and the song. As with any AD/DC song as they rock!

“She says she has a royal flush but i got the jack” meaning she’s a liar! At least the best cover version those were the lyrics I heard.

My first time hearing the song and not all the lyrics, I thought maybe the Jack was Jack Daniels, or Jack of a card game?

I actually have the book in front of me from the disc set Bonfire here is the quote "The story is,we all had a house in Melbourne. And we had about twenty chicks who would come around and service the band, the whole thing. So the whole band got the jack. And so Malcolm said one day: 'Why don't we do a song about it?' So we wrote it that afternoon and played it that night and during the quiet part in the middle I went around and pointed out all the girls, you know... 'She's got the jack' and 'She's got the jack' and so on. And all these chicks are makin' a mad dash for the door. It was quite funny actually."

First off Brian Johnson is not a great singer. He is probably the worst singer of a successful rock/metal group ever. Regardless, I still like listening to AC/DC. My interpretation is the Jack means she is a con artist or liar about her sexual history. If it is about an STD, so be it.

The lyrics were developed by Scott who was inspired by a letter Malcolm Young received during a tour of Adelaide. The letter, from a woman in Melbourne, implied that Malcolm had given her a venereal disease, however Malcolm claims that when he got tested and was clean. Scott's original lyrics were far more explicit than those on the album, which he deliberately toned down in case the song got played on radio.

You guys are foolish, this song is obviously about Bon's strong gambling addiction, which ultimately lead to his death. He was shot by mobsters at a bar. The media said he was on a drinking binge to cover up his gambling problem.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

I'm kind of freakin out, because these lyrics aren't anything like the ones on my ipod. Mine starts out with,
    "She gave me her mind
then she gave me her body"
Then it says that she told him she was a virgin, then it says,
"And I had to fall in love with that dirty little bitch."

Why are these lyrics so different?
