   If you've watched the Official Video for the song, then it would be easier to see the meaning behind the lyrics. It's obvious that you can see him not wanting to move, but he does multiple times, and then at the end you realize that the reason why he was moving was because his parents were divorsed.

   People this song is about a little kid trying to keep his parents together by showing them his play. He loves them both, and Hes trying to get their minds off of the topic of divorce. And if you notice at the end of the song where he says "things are going to get bad before they get good", Hes saying that he'll experience heartbreak before things begin to heal.    the brothers made a play. they spent a lot of time creating it and want their parents to pay attention so they will be proud of them. the problem is their parents are distracted. they are getting divorced. they don’t want their kids to worry so they put on a face and act like everything is okay when it’s not. it moves on to them singing about how their dad got a new place and he just wants to show them his play but his dad no longer lives their so it won’t be the same.
