The lyrics really connect to me sometimes because I don't feel good enough, and the lyrics give a different meaning to beauty and life which is amazing, the world expects girls to cake makeup on their face and feel beautiful instead of feeling beautiful by heart!.

I think it means you should love yourself just the way you are . " You don't have to change a thing , the world can change it's heart " meaning you don't need to put on makeup , do plastic surgery , eat less etc . The people in the world would have to change to understand the real you . You don't need makeup to make you look beautiful . People hide their real self way to much now and I think it song tells them , they shouldn't be hiding anymore .

To me this song represent so many people who don't feel beautiful and try to change it. It shows how as a society we make people feel. We feel we have to be perfect we are made to beleive it. We feel we should be liked or loved by everyone. These lyrics show this "attention she praises, an image She prays to be." It mentions covergirls who are generally beautiful and it says "cause cover girls don't cry, After there face is made." which is kind of giving the impresion they are not man-made.
It make them sound like godesses and that to be beautiful you have to be like them instead of who you really are. -
Everyone seems to be perplexed with the scars to your beautiful, and I am sure that I am not much clearer than the next person. That is the beauty of music...it is a universal language that speaks to a person's individual heart. Can I purpose that she could be talking about the growing pains that occur in everyone's life? Those perceived or not perceived subconscious thoughts that come with living life on earth with other people. People can hurt you both knowingly and unknowingly but your feelings and perceptions will be either not affected, lifted, or scared. Perhaps it is metaphorically speaking. If you are affected, then don't let those thoughts (scars) stay to define your beauty. You have to know you are made perfectly, and you have the power to tell yourself that daily. Learn that now and you have tackled a large part of your confidence. You are beautiful and forget anyone else's interpretation!

I love to your songs inspired me but the one song that really got to me is scars to your beautiful it help me through a lot I have scars all over my body it's helping me to stay strong after being called overweight and not healthy and just too much for me to handle sometimes I even lay in my bed and cry because i just can't handle it at all and you song help me through a lot so thank you Alessia Cara for being there when I needed you thank you

I love all the assuring words of not allowing yourself to be dictated to by other peoples idea of what is perfect. The lyrics are positive in helping us to affirm our own idea's of what is beautiful.
However...When the lyrics say that there is a "...a hope that's waiting for you in the dark"
Wonder what she is referring to there? What's in the dark? Time to isolate and self harm and be hurt by yourself, time to block out the pain...or something more sinister? The song and tune are beautiful and just need one word change to change it to a complete positive and motivational anthem

I finally understand the title! Scars to your beautiful means you won't be any less beautiful if you don't wear makeup, if you let people see your face instead of a mask.

I think it's a song for everyone on the world that feels like they're never enough, in this song allessia sings about scars, maybe they are cuts. It's an fall back for exhausting times, but don't do it! It is not going to make it happen.

This is a wonderful song about how you are beautiful just the way you are. The part where it says 'scars to your beautiful' has to interpretations,
1. Your scars make you who you are, don't hide them
2. You don't have to scars fron beauty surgery or plastic surgery or eating disorders, to be beautiful.

I'm in love with this songs it tell not only women but even men that makes it to everyone! Alessia Cara is telling people not to hide their scars, don"t let others put you down just for how you look always stand up for your rights and put your head up straight. You are strong, unique, brave, and mostly beautiful. its your scars that make you stand up, its what makes you different but in a unique way. Don't ever put yourself down again Just know that you don't need to change yourself to fit in this world, the world has to change itself.
