It's about those times when you tell someone that you don't want to be in a relationship and your reasons why, and what kind of person you are, and they hear all that but think they can change you or change your mind. It's about getting the meaning wrong and the different ways that men and women see each other.

Love this song. My interpretation is that he is scared to lose her and knows that if he does it’s because he did or said something that is interpreted by her as wrong and all he really wants is for her to get that he really truly loves her and that she will and things turn out right and she will stay with him.

When he says ‘ wrong in a sense to far gone from love that don’t last forever’. He is saying that he is in love forever which is different from anything he had felt before – so much so that it just feels wrong because he is used to being discarded or being in love that does not last – so with the woman he is singing about he means that he is in love forever.
