   I feel like this song is about how this girl is oblivious to his feelings for her and so he keeps her "a daydream away" and "watch(es) from a safe place" so he'll "never have to lose" her.

   This song is clearly about Alex and Jack! Alex loves jack and they hangout as friends and he doesn't know what is going to happen to them so he is just gonna admire him by far! 'We necee stood a chance out there shooting love in real-time' This clearly says that they wouldn't survive in the real world cause people are against homo sexuality!

   It doesn't matter what the Artist was thinking when they wrote the song. The song has a different meaning for everyone who listens to it. It reminds me of a girl I really like, but doesn't like me back, so I keep her in daydreams of what things would be like, but on the other hand I can't imagine it in reality. They write songs, guessing what the listener will think, and that's what many people, including me, think of when they listen to this song.

   Maybe he is in love with a friend and he doesn't want to lose her friendship. Then he just want to keep dreaming about her, not have her at all because if he do, their friendship is over. They spend time together, and in this time, he imagines they maybe dating and the girl would never mean it.

   I think it's about a boy who is in love with a girl, but the girl didn't liked him back. They had so much fun together but the boy doesn't want to be in relationship because he's afraid will lose the girl.

   I think Alex got hurt in a relationship. And things ended badly. But he's still in love. Remembering all the fun times they had together. But, he just wants to keep their distance.
   He wants to keep her a "daydream away" so he doesn't have that constant fear of losing her again.

   The boy in this song(Alex) is in love with one of his best friends. . . which I'm assuming is a female. You can see their friendship for each other in many lines such as;"I would drink a little too much.You would offer me a ride.And I would offer you a t-shirt.And you'd stay another night" The friendship that they have carry on throughout the whole song but to me that is the most prominent lines of them all. And also in the line "It doesn't matter when we get back.To doing what we do.Cause right now could last forever.Just as long as I'm with you" It kinda points more out to the fact that Alex is deeply in love with this girl and no matter what they are doing he finds it amazing or fun because he is with her. Which is usually what happens when you are in love. .. so I've heard!
   
   In the chorus "You're just a daydream away
   I wouldn't know what to say if I had you.And I'll keep you a daydream away.Just watch from a safe place.So I never have to lose" I think he is suggesting that him and this girl are maybe going out or having a fun thing going on in his mind. . or daydreams and he wants to keep it in his mind so he doesn't have to lose the friendship that they have with each other. I think it also is saying how the girl really doesn't know about the fact that Alex likes her but he doesn't want to tell her anyways.
   
   (Of course this interpretation probably isn't right because I'm not part of All Time Low, I don't know them, And I'm not Alex(. . . well my name IS Alex but you know who I mean!! lol)This is what /I/ felt what was correct and what fit best with what /I/ had been through. Or course your definition of this song might be different but that's why songs are so amazing!! They can be molded into anyone's imagination)
