Never Alone Lyrics

I waited for you today
But you didn't show
No no no
I needed You today
So where did You go?
You told me to call
Said You'd be there
And though I haven't seen You
Are You still there?

[Chorus:]
I cried out with no reply
And I can't...

When we are baptized, Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) will dwell within us and we are reassurred that nothing can separate us from God because he dwells within us through the indwelling of His Spirit forver in us to guide, comfort and even convict us when we are straying from him...like lost sheep.

Sometimes it feels like he is not there even though we are reassurred in the bible and through our realationship with him that we are never alone. We can't be.

This song is of crying out in pain and even though it seems like he is not with us we know that he does.

We live by faith, not be sight. He is always with us.

I don't know what this song meant to the author, except that it definitely is talking about a relationship with God.

What I can say, is what this song meant to me... which is a lot.

The song came out in the happiest time in my life as my daughter was born and everything in my life was fantastic. I am not sure if I even heard this song, but it didn't speak to me then.

Fast forward to 2017, and My son, second born child had died at 3 months old due to a heart defect that was discovered the day after Thanksgiving. A day that we though all our prayers had been answered, but we didn't know the storms that the next four months would bring us.

Shortly after my son's death, I heard and felt this song - as it spoke to my soul and the desperate cries out to God to answer my prayers to heal our son. The song explains how despite not getting the answers to prayer that we sought, we still have strong faith that God was with us (just like the footsteps in the sand) and allowed us to continue for His Glory.

This song moves me to this day, and I know that I will once again see our perfect son when called to Glory.

this song is about someone who needs God in their life and when they finally commit themselves to Him and ask for His guidance, they feel neglected and ignored. even though they want to give up, their faith won't let them and they know that God is always there.
