   After I listened to this song again, I'm going to confirm that it is about a girl who runs away from home, wanders into prostitution, and has been living that harsh lifestyle for 20 years. This is hinted at in the line “Missing since 1983” (since the song was written and released in 2003). There’s also “20 years of dirty needles, raindrops running through my veins” to imply some drug use going on during that time. But the real meat of the song is definitely about a girl’s life in the brothel – from the people who come (“Big car, little man, my lover for a fee”) to how she hates the experience (“Cold sores, I’m beat, got bruises on my feet”). And “My pride, these men have taken it from me”… that’s a sign of pure hatred for those who found her and then tricked her into her new career.

   This is about a girl/women who ran away and is now a prostitute and is hooked on drugs "And if you want me well I guess I want you" this line tells about the prostitution, because if they want her, she has to please them and pretend to want them. "20 years of dirty needles
   Raindrops runnin' through my veins" This line speaks about the drug addiction. "Milk carton mug-shot baby
   Missing since 1983" This tells about the running away factor, your picture on a milk carton, a special spot reserved for the missing and missing since 1983 proves this point even further.
