Top ranking is a saying used by Jamaican emcees to say that they are the best in the music business…. Skanking is a form of dancing in Jamaica. However, it also refers to emcees who are not the best in the business….. therefore, I believe this song is Bob speaking out to other members of the Jamaican reggae community saying they should unite rather than fuss and fight and kill…

A very dub mellow song but with a sharp, demon tearing message. This song is about oppression and the hard struggle. The government and head leaders make us fight against each other. They make us weaker.

'John saw them comin' this relates to John the Baptiste when he saw Christ for the very first time.

You see rasta come from christianity. We believe in Jesus Christ but we believe Selassie is Christ in his Second Advent or Coming...
