Flume Lyrics

I am my mother's only one
It's enough

I wear my garment so it shows
Now you know

Only love is all maroon
Gluey feathers on the flume
Sky is womb and she's the moon

I am my mother on the wall
With us all

I move in water, shore to...

Flume - the title - is a word with a meaning not very common? Had to check it out in the dictionary. In the song you see "gluey feathers on the flume".
Maroon is a dark brown red colour? The text states: "Only love is all maroon". True or not true?

    And one more sentence:
"Sky is a womb and she is the moon" which refers less to school knowledge and more to the truth of dreams and the patterns of subconsciousness.

In an interview Justin Vernon expressed the special importance of this song connected to dream spheres connected to him.

Mother and son and womb and flume and water and the moon in the sky which is mother? Remember the Salvador Dalí painting?

The maroon colour´s burnig rope´s reddish rouge or lapping lakes like leary loons leaving might give an idea what it is about?

The mesmerizing music of word clusters matching the music is originating from the old fashioned romantic campfire guitar touching the new age synthesizer´s sphere depicting a Sound-Mandala of marooned aspects of love.

Justin said it was about sitting in the room with his dying mother, and knowing that there was nothing he could do.
If you have ever been alone with your mother, as she passed, these words are beautifully written, precise, and strike the emotion.
As an aside, I lived at a rented lake house for more than 30 years, where she also lived with me for her final three years. It is 50 feet from the lake. She passed at 1:30 in the morning. I went outside and heard the waves gently hitting the concrete Seawall.
I think Justin for writing this, the lyrics are so on-point and meaningful, not obtuse lyrics, it is scary

Justin said it was about sitting in the room with his Mother, as she lay dying. If you have ever been alone with your Mother at her passing, these words are so exact and beautiful. As the son, you want to hold on to her, not let go...but you cannot. In my case, it was at 1:30 a.m. CST...at a rented house by the lake. I listened to mild waves slap against a seawall.
This is beautifully written, minimal, and hits an emotion. Really genius. Thank you.

This song is certainly about a pregnancy. Perhaps a miscarriage or an abortion.

I am my mothers only one (child)

Move in water shore to shore (amniotic fluid)

Wear my garment so it shows (pregnant belly)

Love is all maroon (blood maybe a miscarriage)

Gluey feathers on the flume (birth canal)

Leaving Rope burns reddish rouge (blood again in underwear or perhaps umbilical cord)

I am my mother on the wall (same genes, uterine wall)

I believe this is talking about (life) nothing specific or an event. Think about it it’s not just one meaning...
