Don't Go Lyrics

I was raised in the valley, there was shadows and death.
Got out alive but with scars I can't forget.
This kid back in school, subdued and shy.
An orphan and a brother and unseen by most eyes.
I don't know what it was that made a piece of...

Three teenagers have been jailed for life for hacking a friend to death with two scythes in a field near Sheffield.
John Sawdon, Jermaine James, both 17, and 16-year-old Rebecca Peeters - named by a judge on Thursday - pleaded guilty to Terry Hurst's murder in January.

Terry, 17, of Penistone, was targeted by the three during a camping trip to Broomhead Reservoir in July 2004. More than 60 wounds were found on his body.

Sawdon will spend a minimum of 15 years in jail, Peeters and James 13 years.

This horrific murder has been with us night and day
    Audrey Hurst, Terry's mother
Peeters was 15 at the time of the murder.

Mr Justice Andrew Smith, at Sheffield Crown Court, told the trio their offence was chilling.

"You knew he would be defenceless.

"You found him in a tent and set about him mercilessly. He couldn't escape.

"You all chased him and caught him and continued the attack."

Rebecca Peeters , John Sawdon, 17 and Jermaine James, 17 (right)
The motive for the three teenagers' attack is unclear
Mr Hurst, who suffered learning difficulties, was kicked, stamped on and had a plastic bag put over his head as well as being attacked with the agricultural scythes.

The court heard the trio left the largest scythe embedded in their victim's neck.

"You intended to kill him. It was the cruellest of all crimes and perhaps the more terrible because teenagers committed it," the judge added.

Speaking after the sentencing Mr Hurst's family said they would like to say how relieved they were that justice had been done.

    'Horrendous attack'

His mother, Audrey Hurst, said: "This horrific murder has been with us night and day.

"The total disbelief of it all will take time to sink in, if ever.

"We are now going to try and bring some normality back to our lives."

Det Supt Kevin Hardy said the motivation for the attack was not clear.

    scythe used in attack
One of the scythes used in the 'horrific' attack
"There is some suggestion of a young girl Mr Hurst used to go out with who then went out with John Sawdon.

"John Sawdon has been known to make threats to people about what he would like to do to Terry and mentioned he would like to kill.

"Why that would lead to such an horrendous attack is beyond my comprehension," he said.

He said James only met the 17-year-old the day before and Peeters hardly knew him.

He also added it was a unique case.

"To get three young people to agree and participate in such an horrific attack is unique - this is not a reflection on society today."

It's about Oli Sykes cousin I believe who killed a boy. They literally brought a boy to the woods and slaughtered him with a scythe. It's him reacting to the murder since it home. Not about a boy who is alone or anything like that. About a three teens that slaughtered a boy with a scythe. They had a plastic bag over him and much more gruesome details.

Ollie is related to John sawdon (17) who is one of the 3 who chased, attacked and murdered Terry Hurst for having learning disabilities and was different.Terry was shy and not like the other boys. So on a school camping trip they cornered him and chased him. Leaving him with multiple wounds including stomping mark and cuts. They left the boy to die with a syth inbedded in the kids neck.

It was none as one of the most disgusting crimes. Made even worse due to it being followed out by teens.

I think it is about his cousin who was murdered, "I was raised in the valley, there were shadows and death.
Got out alive but with scars I can't forget.
This kid back in school, subdued and shy.
An orphan and a brother and unseen by most eyes.
I don't know what it was that made a piece of him die,
Took a boy to the forest, slaughtered him with a scythe.
Stamped on his face, an impression in the dirt.
Do you think the silence makes a good man convert" as a result of this oli has to live with this horrible loss. Oli actually experiences sleep paralysis which could be a result of the murder, "We all have our horrors and our demons to fight.
But how can I win, when I'm paralyzed?
They crawl up on my bed, wrap their fingers around my throat". He feels like he is being punished for what happened, "Is this what I get for the choices that I've made?
God forgive me, for all my sins. God forgive me, for everything.
God forgive me, for all my sins. God forgive me, God forgive me". Now back to the sleep paralysis, oli doesn't want to be left alone incase he experiences and no one is there to help, "Don't go, I can't do this on my own.
Don't go, I can't do this on my own.
Save me from the ones that haunt me in the night.
I can't live with myself, so stay with me tonight.
    Don't go.
    Don't go."

I think this is a song about someone who goes through a lot and doesn't fit in and that is why he says "god forgive me for all my sins" because he thinks something is wrong with himself and he doesnt want to be alone so he wants to fix things and everyone is so mean to him and have him thinking there is something wrong with him so he doesn't want to be alone but at the same time he pushes people away because he is scared to hurt them and them to hurt him

What this song means, is that this kid is shy, alone, and no matter what he does, he does the wrong thing. He keeps hurting people and he doesn't know how to stop. He doesn't like hurting people, and he doesn't try on purpose, it just happens. Why do you think he says 'God Forgive me for all that I've done'? He wants to stop hurting the people he loves and he needs help doing so. He tells you he needs your help. He says Don't go because he needs you.

This song basically explains what could have happened to me, This song is about a person who went through a lot of things even as a kid
and they find someone or have someone and their afraid of them leaving. They need that person to stay with them, as for the other person (2) they feel like they either can't stay because they just can't handle what's going on in their life or they feel like their just going to hurt the person even more.

I think this song is about him never feeling like he fits in with the world and he's having a hard life then he finally finds someone in the world who understands him and he doesn't want them to go because if they do his world would be crushed

This song basically describes a kid that is shy and is alone. He had a bad childhood and he had no one growing up. He found a girl he fell in love with, he's expressing himself to her by telling her not to go, that he loves her and he needs her. She on the other loves him back, but shes afraid that she'll hurt him and that she'll only destroy him and herself. Basically saying that she cant let him inside her life because it will be destruction.
