I am not a fan of Cardi or her music whatsoever, but while listening to "Press", I sort of understood it a little.

One, while they showed what it was like for Cardi - who was played as a woman that was charged for murder as a black woman - to be confined for her crimes as a murderer, I understood some lyrics about it. It sort of means that you'll never know who the real bad guy is, but when you do find him, you get betrayed and left behind with one chance to spare other than your life, that is.

Two, the trial was a representation of what it's like to be in court for your life - whether it be jail or not - and to be confimed and taken to a place with people judging you for your crimes from the news, media, television, and trial, itself. There are a lot of problems that I have with the lyrics of this part of the song, to be honest.

Three, Cardi says she needs no arrest, but hearing her say those things while commiting crimes in the music video, was about showing the ideal message of "Press": The media has its advantages over one's life. And so, when we do things like that, however, we get labled for them, such as muderer, killer, or psychopath. It takes us in and makes us feel isolated, depress, or even so, want to take it out on someone else.

"Press" is the only song from Cardi that I feel makes sense in the eye of the beholder, because it sympathasizes emotion. Cardi's rage and anger towards the song was her way of showing how it feels to be in that situation, is what I believe to be true.

It's not about risking it all for a person's life, but it makes one to be stronger while taking it all in and raging it out on the media, or in other words, press.
