Never Again Lyrics

Never Again...
Never Again...

They had a frightening desire for genocide
They wouldn't stop 'til what was left of my family died
Hell-bent on taking over the world
You couldn't hide in the shroud of conformity
We can't forget how we were...

This song is about the holocaust and how the Jews were treated. It used comparisons in the song such as beast or captures which referred to the nazis. He uses this song to remind us of the pain, torment, and suffering that occurred in these camps and makes his point extremely clear that he will never let something like this happen again. The desire for genocide in the beginning of the song was hitlers hatred towards Jews.

"Never Again" is David Draiman's response to Holocaust denial and antisemitism. He used the song as an outlet to vent his anger about these issues and put it into context. He says, "sometimes lighter music just isn't appropriate for what you're feeling." Because of his family's victimization in the Holocaust, he attempts to speak on behalf of the survivors by saying "this is something that was real, something that happened, and it not only affected the Jewish people, it affected many people." In his song, he says "for the countless souls who died, their voices fill this night/ sing with me, never again, oh/ They aren't lost, you see, the truth will live in me." It is ultimately a very powerful and heartfelt song.
