This song was developed during hard times in Sheeran's life, he was battling with the loss of his best friend, his wife's cancer and fatherhood with two children. What I see in this song is (from start to finish) him admitting that he gets stuck in situations with lots of problems, but says that his wife makes him feel like his "Troubled heart is a million miles away." He makes many analogies like light shining through the rain and a thousand colors in a brighter shade, before dipping more in to his person life by referencing "The silver lining that surrounds the grave," because his wife helped him through the grief of losing his friend. The lines, "We were made to be nothing more than this, finding magic in all the smallest things, the way we notice thats what really matters. Lets make tonight go on and on and on," could have two meanings, both very similar. Both highlight how he now sees the magic in all of the smallest things, meaning that he knows no longer to take things for granted, but the way the two differ is because if you put a comma between notice and thats, he is saying that what really matters is that he is able to notice all of the good things in life, but if you don't put a comma, it is simply saying that he is noticing what really matters.

Overall, one of the best songs of all time, 132/100

My bf sent me this song and from my interpriation I think it is a romantic song talking about how he feels about his significant other. 'We are designed to love and break, then to rinse and repeat it all again' giving hope in the new relationship. Also in the lyrics 'they way we notice is what really matters'
