Kings Crossing is Elliott warning the audience of the huge endeavor you take part in when you delve your life into hardcore drugs like heroin. In the song, he's inevitably overwhelmed by his addiction, he can no longer find any volume or meaning to life: "I'm going on a date, with a rich white lady - ain't life great." It seems that he's begging for some reason to live, because this addiction has taken over his life and filled him with this feeling of emptiness. This questioning ultimately leads to the rock-bottom, final plea, begging to be proven wrong: Give me one good reason not to do it.
