Tiny Dancer Lyrics

Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band
Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand
And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand

Jesus freaks out in the...

Songs from there dreams. Parts of past history in there dreams. Just like the white horse that repeats itself in many movies. With all the lonely people in the world, we all had at some point in past history a loved one, in generations past, now gone forever. No one in our present life compares.

Everyone just make up any story that makes you happy. It's about a tiny woman that he fancied.

My interpretation is that Elton John had a girlfriend, who he thought she looked like a "tiny dancer", and she committed suicide by standing in a highway.

I believe the tiny dancer was a music box ballerina, the singer is enchanted by finding an old and broken little music box along the sandy highway in LA . He sees this tired tiny dancer as having had a busy day and needs to close the satin lined music box to let the tiny dancer rest. He then dreams of her as an alive partner although he wakes to find himself alone with a broken music box. Sad....

It's about a girl with big dreams who get tied up with the band and becomes a groupie! She thought she would be a ballerina girl, but life and circumstance did not lead her that way. Therefore she became a popular prostitute who lays her tricks or band members who have passed through her at one time or another on sheets of linen! Her love ..... Now she's in me always with me..... The memory of a special prostitute to the band members reflection of what her life could have been! An innocent ballerina girl'........ The casualties of innocent dreams!!!!

It is about Maxine Feibelmann and Bernie. When she was traveling with the band and Bernie Elton. Bernie was eying her he would fantasize about her. They would have a long day and he would be alone without her and in his bed “Lay me down in sheets of linen you had a busy day today” and masturbate. “But oh how it feels so real Lying here with no one near Only you and you can't hear me When I say softly, slowly”
The tiny dancer was his penis in his hand, the sand was his testicals. Sorry to be graphic but now the mystery is revealed. Everything else is what he would think about when he was fantasizing about her. She was so cute with her Pretty eyed, pirate smile, he was dreaming about them getting married.

I think that the song is about someone's love for a "tiny dancer" and just going through life experiencing little things that are wonderful because they're together. The two are care free and dance in the sand and count headlights together on the highway, it doesn't matter what they're doing because all they care about is being together. Then after a busy day they're happy just to be together. He's writing a love ballad for her. I know this probably wasn't the intent of Bernie Taupin but this is how I see the song, it makes me so happy.

I used to read teen magazine, Tiger Beat I think, that had a columnist that went by the name 'Genie the Taylor'. She wrote articles about groups and she was "madly' in love with Eric Clapton and George Harrison. She was a tailor and made costumes for groups like The Rascals and Loving Spoonful. I believe she was also a groupie. She died in a car accident in the early 70's. I don't know her real name but that is who I believe he was writing about in Tiny Dancer.

But oh how it feels so real
Lying here with no one near
Only you and you can't hear me

He is singing a song to his hand. It is rather good at sewing, dancing in the sand, and love making.

I think the song is, frankly, about masturbation; ''tiny dancer in my hand'' and also ''But oh how it feels so real
Lying here with no one near''

I can tell you my interpretation. There was this little girl on the beach in California. She was about two year's old at the time. It was a perfect day and the water was calm. She was thinking about God and how beautiful his universe is....so she decided to dance for him in the sand-the music was in her head. He held her up on her little toe and she spun around and around, doing one perfect peroet after another. When she was done, she stretched out her arms to the sky and praised God and His beauty. Afterwards, a man aproached her and told her that he had been watching her and that he was going to write a song about her dancing in the sand. Not sure if it's true or not.
