Everybody's Fool Lyrics

Perfect by nature
Icons of self indulgence
Just what we all need
More lies about a world that

Never was and never will be
Have you no shame don't you see me?
You know you've got everybody fooled

Look here she comes now
Bow down and...

I believe this song is about celebrities that lie, or make themselves seem better (hence, the mask = hiding who they really are). Also, in my world, I can connect to popular people. They aren't perfect, and I can see through them.
People love them because they seem so great, but others see that they are not as great as they appear. Mainly, Amy MIGHT feel that a lot of people are very insecure, and they "put on masks" to make themselves feel better.

I don't know exactly what the song is really suppose to mean, but I just think it means that Amy(I'm not saying this is about her, but it could possibly be. I don't know) is sick and tired of her lies. She's not herself anymore, and when she looks into the mirror she sees all the lies. You know that saying, "the mirror never lies", well that really say a lot in this song. Whenever I listen to the song, it reminds me of myself, and how I keep fooling others every single day. It gets to you after a while, because even though you can fool everybody else, you can't fool yourself. You know who you really are.

I can't do a logical interpretation of this song justice. The music video might help you in understanding it. Signifigant is the focus of the movie on herself. The use of the mirror, her hating what was in the mirror; she hurts herself with what she sees. She tries to 'wash herself clean' in the bathtub, it would seem.

This song is about herself. She's singing to herself. She's lied to everyone about who she is, including herself. And when she sees it...

    "I know the truth now
    I know who you are
And I don't love you anymore"

    Notice the line,

    "But now I know she..."

    also,

    "Don't you see me?"

"You don't know how you betrayed me."

The other part of this is she knows her worldview was totally skewed, and now she sees clearly; a paradigm shift, if you will.

She is singing to herself. She betrayed herself; She hates who she was and who it made her. She recognizes she was fake and despises it, and knows that sho she pretended to be 'never was and never will be.'

Here's to you Daniel; You fooled us all.

I think she is singing about people trying to change you into something you are not. Like people who wants you to be a more feminine but you are more like a tomboy

this is about one of her sisters who used to dress up as either Christina Aguilera , britney spears or anyone who was in the music industry singing pop and made up lyrics that never really made any sense .
In my opinion it is about celebrities but they are trying to hide the fact that their actual everyday life is not what they want it to be they "mask" it with the paparazzi, social media, programs and reporter etc. everybody who reads them or sees it on social media ( aka Teenagers getting the latest trends or doing the trends) they all want to be fake and masked with makeup... which isn't good because you need to show your real beauty. that's why in the video you see amy lee (celebrity) and her everyday life ( the bathroom and her cutting her hair short...)
YOU NEED TO SHOW YOU INNER SELF, TRUE SELF AND YOUR BEAUTY NOT JUST MASK IT AND HIDE.

In the music video, Amy portrays a celebrity with a double life. She looks pretty and perfect for the camera. However, on the inside she is unhappy with herself. Being famous only means telling lies to the public and forming an empty void in your life.

I believe this video is not only about lying to yourself as a person or a celebrity about who they really are, as most interpretations say.
I also believe it brings this idea across about depression or mental illness.
Having to smile everyday and fool everyone into thinking you are okay.
Lying to yourself saying things such as the lyric: Worthless.
This, to me shows the inner struggle of depression and how it makes people feel and think.
People don't know what do to or say to friends with an illness, so it is up to that person so convince everyone they are okay, but on the inside they are screaming for help. Which I think is what this video and lyrics are about.

I believe this song is directed to the society view of how women are suppose to look and be, in particular, supermodels. Perfect by nature, icons of self indulgence. That pretty much nails it on the head. The fact that magazine covers are airbrushed to look perfect, and makeup covers all the flaws. But women all over the planet will compare themselves to what the magazine indicates what she should look like. The "perfect" woman is 5'9, 98lbs, has perfect teeth, perfect hair, perfect body, has her own fortune 500 company, a stud husband, a mansion, 3 perfectly angelic children and can juggle it all and still have time to be the PTO president, charity coordinator and still get in 5 workouts a week. Reality? I think not! But women will kill themselves to be that and do whatever it takes to get there, even if it puts them in the grave. I think this song is your typical woman breaking free from the media and society lies of being perfect and just becoming herself and embracing the perfection of just being her. Flaw and all.
I love the "without the mask, where will you hide, can't find yourself, lost in your lies". Because take away the make up and hair dressers, they look like the rest of us. Stretch marks, wrinkles and all!

i believe that this song is about how fake some people are.
X Without the mask where will you hide?
Can't find yourself, lost in your lies

    I know the truth now
    I know who you are
And I don't love you anymore

It never was and never will be
You don't know how you've betrayed me
And somehow you've got everybody fooled
this basically means you are lying and were eventually caught in your lies. A little white lie can be bigger than anything. Your lies eventually catch up with you.

I Don't think this song has to refer just to the Muisc Industry and Celebrities. There are people who are fake EVERYWHERE! You can't escape that. But that doesn't man it doesn't suck any less. I Think evreyone does need to just love themselves the way they are and just because someone we think is "Perfect" does something does not mean we need to do it. NOBODY is perfect and to tell yourself that there are perfect people is lying to yourself.

As for those who thought the song was about Hating God, I Honestly thought the same thing when I heard it the first time, but God isn't a she (Which the whole second verse of the song refers to this person who Betrays her as a she)and also Amy Lee, (Writer of the song) Clearly states that it's not about God. And if your still confused about the fact the she says "Your not real and you can't save me" God isn't the only Being we can refer to as savng someone. Why do girls say "I'm waiting for my prince to come save me" Representing a Man? In The song Wonderwall by Oasis, he States in his Lyrics "Maybe, your gunna be the one that saves me" And I Know he isn't talking about God. Just because Evanescence does not want to be classified as a Christian band (I'm assuming because of how Dark their Music can be and for flexibility in lyrics) Does NOT mean they are Bashing God on any Level. Listen to some of their other songs and see for yourself that some of them are talking about God on a good level, why would they Trash him at the same time?

My opinions, Hope I Helped! (:

I think this song is mostly about how some celebrities become completely different people after becoming famous. I think the storyline of the video is basically about a celebrity realising that fame has ruined her and has to constantly seem perfect in front of everyone, which is probably the way most fake celebrities feel on the inside, but they have been that person for so long it's too late to stop.

For whoever thought this song was about hating God, my interpretation is slightly different: This song is about the church, about how she has disguised itself to fit in modern world and becoming something without a real meaning.

"You're not real and you can't save me.
    Somehow now you're everybody's fool"

Religions don't save, churches are meaningless if you don't know the truth wich is Jesus Christ.

I think this song is an epic tale that invokes so many different interpretations about the same problems so characteristic of the world in which we live...

...A world that seeks to blind us to the truth...

...A world that seeks to eviscerate our moral perceptions by exploiting our youth...

...A world ruled by Satan---the original man-slayer---the Father of the Great Lie...Gog of Magog...

One can interpret this song however they like, yet at the very heart of all these sentiments is one very salient and resonating accord---The Devil's wicked influence has tainted this world so much that we have become slaves to its devices and really have no way out of this misery except to put faith in the true God, whom will destroy the Devil and his followers...

"I will call for a sword against him on all my mountains, declares the Sovereign Lord Jehovah...I will bring my judgment against him with pestilence and bloodshed; and I will rain down a torrential downpour and hailstones and fire and sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many peoples with him. And I will certainly magnify myself and sanctify myself and make myself known before the eyes of many nations; and they will have to know that I am Jehovah." (Ezekiel 38:21-23)

'This is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah says: "I am against you, Gog,...I will knock your bow our of your left hand and make your arrows fall from your right hand...I will give you as food to all kinds of birds of prey and the wild beasts of the field...You will fall on the open field, for I myself have spoken,' declares the Sovereign Lord Jehovah." (Ezekiel 39:1-5)

"'Yes, this is coming, and it will be done,' declares the Sovereign Lord Jehovah. 'This is the day I have spoken about...On that day I will give Gog a burial place there in Israel, in the valley of those who travel east of the sea...That is where they will bury Gog and all his hordes, and they will call it the Valley of Hamon-Gog..." (Ezekiel 39:8-11)

"Men will be assigned to pass through the land constantly and bury the bodies left remaining on the surface of the earth, in order to cleanse it...I will display my glory among the nations, and all the nations will see the judgment that I have executed and the power that I have demonstrated among them..." (Ezekiel 39:14-21)

"I saw heaven opened, and look! a white horse. And the one seated on it is called Faithful and True, and he judges and carries on war in righteousness...He has a name written that no one knows but he himself, and he is clothed with an outer garment stained with blood, and he is called by the name The Word of God. Also, the armies in heaven were following him on white horses, and they were clothed in white, clean, fine linen. And out of his mouth protrudes a sharp, long sword with which to strike the nations, and he will shepherd them with a rod of iron...he treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his outer garment, he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords." (Revelation 19:11-16)

"And I saw the wild beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage war against the one seated on the horse...And the wild beast was caught, and along with it the false prophet that performed in front of it the signs with which he misled those who received the mark of the wild beast and those who worship its image. While still alive, they both were hurled into the fiery lake that burns with sulfur..." (Revelation 19:19,20)

This song has a lot of different meanings.amy wrote this song about her sister who would dress up as Brittany spears and christina aguilera, but it can also be about creating an image of someone you're not, and finding it hard to be who you truly are ,which is a lot about the video I guess

Well, in the being in the video, Amy dress up like some regular teen girl blue dress, brown short curly hair (witch you all know THATS not Amy.) Amy: dinners ready! Boy #1: Pizza! Boy #2:(I forgot the pizza topping...)Mom: And you made all by yourself? That's are girl! Amy: There's nothing better then a good LIE! the pizza was called 'LIES'. The jewelry, soda, and I think the doll. then I notice.... the word 'lies' were right by her! UGLY: All the wigs, make up ,outfits. WORTHLESS: foods, jewelry, clothes. LIES: Personality, looks,! what Amy trying to say is... ' who CARES what anybody thinks about you! its you so be you! take off your mask! follow the RIGHT path.
