Sight of the Sun Lyrics

For once there is nothing up my sleeve
Just some scars from a life that used to trouble me
I used to run at first sight of the sun
Now I lay here waiting for you to wake up

The city outside still sounds like it’s on fire
You put on new...

"For once there is nothing on up my sleve" I think it means that normally he used to trick this girl but this time he doesn't plan to trick her, that he means what he is doing.

"The city outside looks like it's still on fire" there is still tension between their arguments

"Talking in circles" arguing the same thing over and over again, and he is glad that as they are talking is circles the distance is not changing, eventhou its not getting shorter its not getting bigger

"I pray to god that we can move on" he fucked up and really wnats to move on

"You'll make a beautiful mother" he sees her as the mother if their kids

This song is about a man who goes around sleeping with girls (one night stands) "I used to run at the sight of the sun" means he was leaving in the morning. "now i lay here and waiting for you to wake up" is saying how he is no longer leaving because he found love.

I believe the song is talking about love between two people and the boy did some bad things, drugs, alcoholic you pick and his girlfriend wants him to change his ways so his does but still is haunted by his past self and will always be haunted by it leaving, "Past that troubled me." It still is a rather cute song about second chance love though.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
