   The message is very strong. Powerful. Its about a person that can see the toxic effects that someone cant and falls victim to. Falling victim trying to be heard and seek love.
   Seems like a mother married because she lacked education and self confidence. Voice small and fading means this kid was never truly heard and loved properly. This kid seems like an adult now still seeking what will never become in the dysfunction of the family. Someone who loves this person is trying to make them see past what they want it to be and what it actually is. This adult never received
   Love properly when the song states "the most they ever gave you was the most you ever knew" because they have a hard time now trusting and receiving and giving love. No one is listening including the adult. The adult that this person loves is also shut down to seeing the truth.
   Seems like this person is being kind to the wrong people in anticipation for the smallest sign of love. Meanwhile there is someone to love them truly but they dont want to see the truth or cant face it. This person seems like they are there soulmate seeing things from the outside in.
   Its sad because they both love each other too. But one is stuck on their dysfuntional enabling environment.
   Makes me tear up. Its so complex yet simple.

   To me its a song about a person who is trapped by their family's dysfuction. A mother who stayed with a man Because she likes education and money And needed to be taken care of. And the only reason why she loves her husband is because she's vulnerable. His mother did not know how to love herself or her children. So when it says the what they gave you was the best they knew. A voice that small and fading is a voice that's afraid to speak up because your voice is never heard or understood. Which is common and families of dysfunction. No one wants to change no one wants to hear the truth. It's about a love that tried to save this person but could not. It is a very sad song because it seems like the person is constantly seeking love from a place they will never get it

   I think it reflects parents staying together for their child, despite losing their own dreams. When it mentions seeing right through you, seems like the child knows that her parents pretend for her sake.

   This song sounds very sad at first but its message is very powerful. Its a song about how you realize that what everyone told you is wrong. Everyone told you these "things" to make the world seem like a better place. Your dreams are not coming true like you had first hoped and no one is listening to your opinions anymore. The problems of the world/your life have gotten the best of you. But then people realize that your struggling and that you need help. But its to late....
