I believe it's about how water companies have put chemicals it the water that are harmful to us (like fluoride which has been shown to be a neurotoxin https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/news/features/fluoride-childrens-health-grandjean-choi/). Mercury, which is also a neurotoxin, being injected into us at high doses through our vaccines while we are babies (https://rense.com/general24/out.htm). They are against us. Poisoning us for their greed of money and power. So, that is what I think it means by "What are you going to do when there's blood in the water" refers to what are we going to do when our most basic needs and things that keeps us from sickness (water and vaccines) kill us or makes us dumber.

I think this song is about standing up to those who have more power.Grandson shows this through the lyrics of his song that sound like its a revenge song.It might state a dangerous plan.For example, his lyrics say "tell me every things not fine or the people are not happy and the river has run dry."He could be praying horrible things on that have hurt him or something.We wont know unless Grandson himself explains this song tho.

I believe he’s playing on words making bible references while he’s speaking about the opioid crisis. “Blood in the water” being a reference to how when you shoot heroin, you pull back the plunger to register that you’ve hit a vein and the syringe fills with blood into the water.
He makes direct references to opioid addiction in other songs. I believe he is talking about the pharmaceutical companies pushing drugs and maybe even talking about an addict losing their kids “the price of your greed is your son and your daughter” , all while drawing a parallel to a bible story.
I think maybe he’s asking the addict if they are going to continue to do harm regardless of the consequences and is also asking the government the same thing.
Maybe this is to get a sympathetic ear from people who normally don’t sympathize with opiate addicts? Maybe it’s not that deep and it’s just a well written song about the crisis? -
Hey. Uhhh this is prob irrelevant, but it’s just my interpretation doesn’t have to be yours. I think it’s a lot like in history, there are a lot of stories like this. One of the most notable is the life of Alexander Hamilton. (Didn’t think of this one my own, there’s a GLMV.) but it’s just my opinion and is def not the actual interpretation haha qwq

I agree with most of these. Although a few of the lyrics remind me about the 10 plagues to do with that Egypt story and stuff- like the 'red sea' and when they slaughtered lambs to put on the top of the doors.
I obviously know that's wrong but that reminded me of that a lot of when I learned about it back in school. -
In my opinion I think its based on the saying "blood is thicker than water" so I think the song is referring back to the fact as how some families/parents are more bothered about how successful they are financially and pay more attention to that rather than their own "blood" (children).
And the phrase "lamb to the slaughter" further emphasises that point as it as if parents are throwing their necks on the line; they couldn't bother to give a second glance, they are just meat meant to be used for their own personal and selfish gains.
Also, "look me in my eyes, tell me everything's not fine" is possibly representing how the child/ren feel after being told time and time again that "nothing's wrong.." and empty "I still love you.."; they are tired of all of these plastic smiles and fake words although they know the truth.
Well that's my interpretation anyways, obviously there are more verses to quote from but this is already long as it is so I'll just leave is for now. :3 -
I think it’s about the corrupt ness of the governments due to the bribing done by rich people , and the line” when the last tree falls” has to do with pollution of the environment due to mass production that people don’t know that it’s harming their environment ,”we’ll never be free” talks about the controlling of the citizens from the government and “lamb to the slaughter “ means that people are ruthless they will do anything to get what they want that reminds me that this world is full of liars, cheaters, murderers and thieves in this world
And the “when there’s bold in the water” means the poisoning people do to the environment ,and “WHAT’S YOUR ALIBI”
means why did those people do those bad things to the earth

As an "Arrow" fan, I have noticed how similar this song to one of the episodes: a medical drugs company owner has poised the water supply of the poor, so they will have to buy his drugs. Even without this association, I think this song is about someone standing up to the rich: "you thought you could go free, but the system is done for" normally the law system can be bribed, and the rich can juat walk free, but now the people (or just one of them) is standing up, and he/she "won't accapt your silence" as in the right to remain quite, now the rich will have to answer for their crimes.

I believe it’s about how greedy humans are and they kill every animal they can see “lamb to the slaughter” just for money. We treat them like dirt on the bottom of our shoes and disregard the beautiful earth we have, until there is too much blood and pollution in the water, then we will have nothing.

The first time I heard this song I had a show about the Iraq war playing in the background. The troops were pinned down, low on ammo, and the rescue vehicles were struggling to find them. The song felt like a direct comparison to war to me... although based on the music video it has more to do with the prescription medicine thing. Still, it has just always struck me as a commentary on how we get tricked into sending our young to die in wars that don't really matter in the grand scheme of things.

I think its about how pharmacies try to control use with their drugs and hate on natural meds like cannabis, because cannabis helps depression and also has been shown to help some cancers.

I don't know if it was intentional, but I saw a lot of parallels to the Bible story of the ten plagues. That was my first thought when I heard the song.
