Poprocks And Coke Lyrics

Wherever you go
You know I’ll be there
If you go far,
You know I’ll be there
I’ll go anywhere,
So I’ll see you there
You place the name
You know I’ll be there
You name the time
You know I’ll be there
I’ll go anywhere
So I’ll see you...

    Let's be entirely clear.

If the song was about unconditional love and always being there for somebody, why the hell is it called "Poprocks and Coke"? You think the band couldn't think of anything and just decided to slap some silly label on it?

There is an urban myth that if you eat Poprocks and then drink Coke, your stomach will explode. Clearly, an exploding stomach (or, at the very least, nausea) is somehow involved in this song.

The song starts out seeming innocent, just a soft ballad/love song, but the persistent repetition of the "I'll be there for you" line and the rising intensity of the background music signifies that his offers to "be there for (her)" are being denied, and that she doesn't want anything to do with this person, but he keeps clinging on ("I don't care if you don't mind...")

"Poprocks and Coke" represents the nausea that being a part of this one-sided-obsession (or watching somebody be overtly obsessed with someone who isn't interested) creates.

Jesus, let's actually pay attention to the whole song.

He loves a girl so much even if they aren't together he will help and be right behind. Kind of like making sure she doesn't fall on her way to a new boyfriend.

This song is about being there, to take care of someone, no matter what. No matter the place, the time or the circumstances.

Ok this song is self-explanitory, but nevertheless I love it. It's about being there for someone no matter what happens.
