Graveyard Lyrics

It's crazy when
The thing you love the most is the detriment
Let that sink in
You can think again
When the hand you wanna hold is a weapon and
You're nothin' but skin
Oh, 'cause I keep diggin' myself down deeper
I won't stop 'til I get...

A toxic relationship. “Let that sink in” is used to show how they have no idea they are being manipulated. “You can think again when the hand you wanna hold is a weapon and you’re nothing but skin”. The other person is dangerous. Skin is human; mortal, and therefore a weapon could harm it. If we skip later into the song she starts to use “would’ve” instead of “would”. She’s seeing through the lies. “It’s getting real, you lock the doors you’re drunk at the steering wheel” the other person is showing there true colours now. “It’s funny how the warming signs can feel like they’re butterflies”. In an interview Halsey did about this song, she mentions talking about a breakup with her mum who said a variation of “butterflies are not healthy because you are constantly looking for approval; this person has made it seem like they are you’re only source of validation. Leave.”
    There :)

I think this means that you're obsessed over a long lost lover and you would do anything to be with them.

They would do anything to get to be with you. And that life is better with you.
