   The song here is talking about a person who was once in life of harry as an important person but becoz of some reason now even that very is not with him and he still admires him/her and is not able to face that person but still want them to be in his life but not because of the reason that he(harry) is sad rather he want that person to just be with him for their happiness...thats what sympathy lines seems like.....im not that good at this but i just tried and this us what the song appearsto me

   im just going to add in here that we've been told anna should have been a different name. One that rhymes with the line before anna. "I don't want your SYMPATHY". Now what name rhymes with Sympathy. Sound it out, it starts with um, an L. :)

   I'm getting really contrasting vibes from Anna, killer song it really is, and I could say Larry! but i dont know if that makes sense given the lyrics, I've heard that someone involved in the song said "Anna" should have been a different name, and obviously that would be Louis, but again the context is kinda off for that, I get the anorexia theory, that makes sense, "Chew me up and spit me out, nothing left to lose" "But you dont know what you do to me" I think, it was a contender for a stunt song, like Carolina but ultimately didn't end up on the album.

   I don't get it at all, I really like the song but I don't know what it is about.
   I thought at first it was about an old friend that is not anymore his friend, but I don't know if that makes any sense so I don't know.
