I am a lion and I want to be free
Do you see a lion when you look inside of me?
Outside the window just to watch you as you sleep
Cause I am a lion born from things you cannot be
How can I sleep at night, there's a roar inside my...

I've been a fan of Hollywood Undead for a long time. I understand the themes that they're trying to express in their songs.
Lion is describing strength that others don't understand.
The lion is a successful predatory animal in the wild.
"Outside the window just to watch you as you sleep." Clearly describes a predatory behavior of stalking.
"I am a lion and I want to be free."
A wild predatory animal is dangerous in captivity. So if one feels like a lion that wants to be free it seems to describe a person who wild and does not want to be tamed or held captive by society.
"Do you see a lion when you look inside of me?"
This lyric mocks and challenges society to look deeper into someone to see their more wild and powerful nature. Society tends to see people as part of a machine instead of individuals who choose their own paths.
"I am a lion born from things you cannot be."
This essentially describes the strength and independence of a natural predator that a docile animal will never have. A domesticated sheep can never be like a wild wolf.

This song is about rage. A person may act like they are always joyful on the outside, but they are actually angry all the time on the inside. Said person can completely lose their mind at any moment and you wont be prepared.

I found the lion hidden right beneath my bed
I will not hide myself from the tears that you have shed
cause I am a lion and you are dead
this part could be taken literally in the sense that a sudden death occurred and from that, he found himself
or this could be taken in a metaphorical way meaning that that person is dead to him, and because of that, the person is crying. And because he removed whoever from his life, he is now a new person and therefore found "the lion" or his true self.
In the first verse, it begins with here's a story of everything we'll ever be
you can hide but some of us will never leave
and if you go I don't need those little things
they remind me of all our little dreams.
This implies that it is a flashback and happened in the past because it is a story. Obviously, it was with two people, a couple perhaps because it talks about their dreams or past dreams, of the future.
It then goes on to say Can you hear the words? All I can say
we can watch the world, even if they walk away
Forget about tomorrow, tomorrow is today
You were born a lion and a lion you will stay
This means that they, the couple, can be together even if the world does not approve. Don't care about what people think, live in the now.
I am a lion and I want to be free
Do you see a lion when you look inside of me
outside the window just to watch you as you sleep
cause I am a lion born from things you can not be
The chorus implies someone wanting to show their true colors to the world. To tell them about their lives yet not be judged for it. It is made obvious they are hiding that aspect of themselves from whoever. They love this person(watch you as you sleep) as couples do when one's awake and one's sleeping as to admire their love. This is more about uniqueness and wanting to show the world who they are.

I think this is talking about a person speaking out for all that are too afraid to speak. That this person is saying that he and other's are different. They're strong and stable, that they all have their own stories but that is what makes them strong. And he is encouraging these people to believe in themselves. That they are their own leaders of their own lives and to accept themselves as normalcy. That it's okay to be themselves and they should flaunt it. The lion is a brave symbolic symbol and means everything strong and powerful. So maybe he's saying that they are all strong and powerful people within. This is just my idea of what the song means. My own opinion.

i think it's saying by someone who understands that he is different and now he wants to be free ( and understands that there are so many different ones like him) , and he is in pain because of this sudden understanding, he is doing things that he doesn't want (like killing his own daughter though she is someone that he want to save, and like leaving though he never meant to let go) , but he is a lion , so can't do anything against it, he is saying to someone ( maybe his daughter) that she can hide in the attic of pretty home, she can leave but he can't couse he is someone different from his daughter. he can't sleep though he watch other one sleeping.
maybe it's saying differences between men and women. man is saying that i'm not what you think, can you see my real one? and when you see, you will be dead!or maybe he is saying that i'm a lion , and you are a lion to , and you are running from it but i can't!
or maybe these are words from a soldier who is injure from memories of war!

So to start, "Lion" "Outside" and "Believe" are all directly connected. They are all of Johnny's feelings towards the poetry collection of "Notes from the Underground" which have to do with us destroying our world and not allowing future generations to have a choice in their lives. "Lion" is essentially an apology from a parent to a child about decisions and other life altering things (such as destroying the world). Johnny speaks of turning back time and not having the ability to. He also speaks of other kids having it made (basically) and those other kids....they are us....comparatively to the imaginative future world they have created in which they love underground to protect themselves from the outside....we have it made

I think Lion is a song about reflection. Love and innocence are easily lost, as he will not hide himself from someone's tears. This is someone who cares no longer for others and has become narcissistic as "things you cannot be". "Watch me as I fade." Obviously the good side has faded at this point. Many different interpretations but this is mine.

I believe this song to be for J3T who is speaking as a father. His daughter, when seeing her for the first time, brought out the "lion" in him. He now knows the responsibility of being a father, and all he wants is for her to be happy and proud of him-- hence why Danny says "Do you see a lion when you look inside of me?" He wants to be strong for his daughter, protect her from everything, and be her lion.
Of course, it has plenty other meanings to it as well, but when I hear the lyrics, this is what strikes me the most.

'Lion' is a metaphor which describes someone as being a king of some sort. Maybe a king or leader of a prison, since this person 'wants to be free'. Is suggests that the person had potential of going far, but is trapped, hence J3T mentions 'Everything we could've been'.
'All those little kids, living life like they only get a little bit' could mean that poor, innocent kids are being imprisoned, like those from the holocaust. It's just a suggestion. After all, it's 'hard to fight when you're born in the middle'. Kids being brought up during a war or violent era.
