Imogen Heap: Goodnight and Go Meaning
Goodnight and Go Lyrics
Say goodnight and go.
Woah woah. Woah woah
Skipping beats, blushing cheeks I am struggling
Daydreaming, bed scenes in the corner café

She is a waitress in the corner cafe. He comes in nearly every day. They share the typical banter that you would expect between a server and a customer, and although he sees it as meaningless small talk, she has fallen madly in love with him. But she remains eternally frustrated that he won’t notice her. It always ends the same; he finishes his meal and then it’s say goodnight and go.
She fantasizes about him and even begins to stalk him. She watches him through his window and builds on her perfect fantasy. If he will not initiate, then one day through fate aided by her designs, they will end up together. But alas, it is only a fantasy. Why is it always always say goodnight and go. -
It's obviously a song about falling for somebody from afar that you obviously have not met. Lol. It can be stalker-ish but not really. It's what anyone who likes someone would do and find out a little about them or a lot. It's funny what simple little feelings like this can do to a person.

This song is about a stalker.

This song paints a perfect picture of what it feels like when you fall in love for the first time. It's one of the best love songs I ever heard.
