Night Drive Lyrics

Lay back baby and we'll do this right
There's blankets in back we can use
I'll start the car, but we'll stay in park
The cold can kill us before fumes

Now's the right time for a good song
Get something to say what I can't
Do you feel bad,...

You're all off. This song was written to portray the relationship with an alcoholic female and the survival being in it. Hence, pour us a road we'll both drink and drive and when he talks about how her lips go dry but she's sweet inside its referencing the inner person he's in love with aside from the addiction. This is why at the end he belts out "quitting alone will never get you dry".

    Sorry to burst your bubble.

This song is NOT about rape or cheating. This song is about a girl & how she really likes this boy who uses her. She relizes this & wants to stop everything with him, but she can't because of how he makes her feel when they're together. She wants to put the blame on him bit she knows it's her fault too, for the fact that she is te one that keeps going back. It's sad because she knows what she's doing isn't her & she knows she's giving herself away to him but she wants the feeling of being wanted. This song is so beautiful regardless because it describes a situation that is very real.

It's about a guy taking advantage of a girl. The subject of struggle come up many time throughout the song

"Kiss me with your cherry lipstick/ Never wash you off my face/ Hit me I can take your cheap shot/ Leave you with the love we made" "Your lips go dry, but there's sweet inside" "There's no way out this fade out/ Be Happy to Get what you do/ Make him notice with both fists"
"Give me everything you've got now/ I don't feel a single thing/ Drag me out into the cold rain/ Let it hover over me"

so the whole time she's trying to fight her way out of the situation but he keeps over-powering her until she just gives up and lets him do what he likes.

in short, it's a song about rape.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

this is about the ultimate sacrifice from a loved one. the gut is going to overdose on an injectable drug prefferably heroin. he is killing himself so that she will quit in the event of his death so that she may live on. the man see it as her only way out. he is doing it for the production of her future. he will leave her with the love they made

I believe that this song is about cheating. "Got something to say what I can't Do you feel bad, like I feel bad?" They both feel bad because they know that they shouldn't be together because she has a someone else. And when he says "It'd be easy if you get mad, with three fingers pointed back at you" Ya the guy is at fault for being the "other man" but she is just as much to blame because she is the one that's cheating.
I don't know for sure but that's just what I get from this song
