John Lennon message in his song is saying war does not solve all problem but if you " give peace a chance" it may be a better solution to solve all the problems in war. The song also mentions the spoken parts, it is saying that the most popular subjects are all this gossip and controversial or debatable topics and opinions. The way he sees it there is no need for that sort of thing in our world. people shouldn't try not arguing and debating. As he says " give peace a chance" what's the worst that could happen.

The 1960's and 1970's in the United States, were hard times. You had the death of Kennedy, the death of Martin Luther King Junior, the war in Vietnam, civil rights movements, and police brutality at those movements everywhere. People were being beat for protesting. John Lennon was trying to express that everyone needed to stop talking, stop fighting, and try to be at peace with one another.

Jhon Lennon thinks that war is not worth the lives that are being wasted on a battlefield. If people give peace a chance, maybe things wouldn't be so chaotic and all people can live as equals. Everyone deserves a chance.

I sometimes try to imagine that if John Lennon were still alive today, what kind of music would he write. And then I think of this song and here we are in 2020 with people at war within themselves and their own thoughts as well as war on our streets. We could all use a lesson in peace from Mr. John Lennon.

This song is basically saying that war is not worth it. Trying to make peace is more worth it than war.

I think this is a detailed journey into the mind of an insane John Lennon, it delves into not only the problems of the Vietnam war, but the war inside his drug fuelled mind.

It's not that difficult to tell what this song is about. It is just what it says, give peace a chance. When seen with the spoken parts, it is saying that the most popular subjects are all this gossip and controversial or debatable topics and opinions. The way he sees it, there is no need for that sort of thing. People should try not arguing and debating and, as he says, give peace a chance. It's that simple.
