Ain't No Grave Lyrics

Go down yonder Gabriel

Put your foot on the land and sea

Now blow your trumpet boy until you hear from me

There ain't no grave gonna hold my body down

There ain't no grave gonna hold my body down

When you hear that trumpet...

My interpretation is that he believes that he will be saved after death, and he will be risen and taken to heaven. No grave can keep him from Jesus.

This song is all about the resurrection of the fleshes in the Last Day, when the bodies will rise (as it says the Bible) to re-join with the souls and live the eternity of joy with God or pain away from God in the enslavement of the Devil.

If you are a Christian who has been saved by the blood of Jesus, then when Gabriel sounds his trumpet you will rise from the grave to meet Jesus in the air with your new body to spend eternity with Him! You'll no longer have a sin nature, nor pain, tears, or worries!

When I die there will come a time when Jesus comes back to get those who believed in Him and He will call forth all who believed in Him and we will rise and be with our Lord forever.I'll have a new body and have a new life.

Cash was a devout Christian. These lyrics are a testament to his belief in the resurrection promised by Jesus Christ at the end times. Hence, no grave can "hold" his body (not forever, anyway.)

My interpetation is that "Legends never truly die. Nobody ever does. We all continue to live on in the mark we have left on the earth, wether it be good or bad. Legends live on in their music (Like himself.)

He is a man who's not ready to die and will do anything and everything before his time comes.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway
