I am clearly broken
And no one knows what to do
Pieces of the puzzles don't fit so I'm coming into you
Itching is a pulse inside
Creeping out to come alive
It's just doing what
It's gonna do

Times are looking grim these days
Holding on...

Yes. Jonathan Davis got raped as a child. but that doesn't mean every song is about him being raped.. its just about having no mood anymore. just depression. something everyone suffering from depression can relate to. if he sings about being raped. only people that get raped can find himself into it. the more people can relate. the better. this song is for everyone having low self-esteem.

This song is about depression folks. About making yourself get up and take care of business. JD has depression and anxiety issues and that's what this song is about.

I'd say this has to do with being abused as a child, whether it be emotionally physically or mentally. It hits home for me :/

I think its just in general about how people who are sad and longing for the past; cling on to memories of places and people, should shut up and get up and on with their lives. When I broke up with my bf I listened to this on repeat for an hour.

It's about schizophrenia n how you have to tell urself to shut up n get up and live. About being broken.

I think its a decently simple song. It's about how bad things are in our current society, but we can't feel sorry for ourselves. We have to shut up and face the day.

When we are raised under abusive conditions as a kid, told to "get up", quit your crying and get ready for another hit...we learn how to adapt to any situation that comes upon us to just survive. Watching so many in this economy who have never dealt with torment and loss is something totally new to those that have been spoon fed their whole lives and loved. We see their pain of loss, but it's time to survive so "shut the F up and get up!!"

its about how out of touch everyone has become but some of us see whats about to go down socially, economically, spiritually, Earthly & we are trying to hold on to our sanity, humanity, family, friends & even enemies so tightly that it literally chokes them out & we are left desperately empty handed. While others just go about their lives not knowing what the hell is going on but really doesn't care enough to try to see it or fix it. But it also means being regretful & trying to hang on to what we have regretted & not being able to get past that regret.

I thinking its means tryna to make people get up and face the battle that is about to come.
And feeling like he losing everything
    and everybody.
and he getting fad up with it all.
Feeling like he is empty in the inside..
Its killin him inside looking at somebody
becuz what happend with that person.

I believe this song is about Jonathan's view of society today. How nothing works from economy to education, and so on. The "pulse inside" is ultimately voice in his head saying "shut the fuck up, get up". Which I interpret as his own recollection of getting depressed about the things going on around him, and snapping out of it. Figuratively telling the current state of things that bother him to shut up, and getting out of his rut... maybe which led to the prompt writting, recording and release of this single

I think it's about how Jonathan Davis is tired of today's economy and society and how he wants all of the chaos to stop and how sometimes he remembers being abused as a child when he has these feelings and attitudes towards the economy. Also the lines "Shut the Fuck up" and "Get up!" could be what his abuser screamed to him. But that's just my guess. I could be wrong.
