Lady Gaga: The Fame Meaning
Song Released: 2008
The Fame Lyrics
material
It's some kind of joke, I'm obsessively
opposed to the typical
All we care about is, runway models, cadillacs
and liquor bottles
Give me something I wanna be, retro glamour,
Hollywood...
-
This song is about materialistic obsession. That means that all she is obsessed about Or cares about is material object like the 'latest mobile phone' or the fashion or what you have more than somebody else, basicaly things that you don't need, but want. Like model shows, being famous and having money. She explains that sadly she has been metaphorically 'sucked' into the world of material objects, that's all she cares about. All she wants is money and fame, and not the real things like love and family and other people. She says about how great it is but she realises that it's wrong sometimes for that to be the only thing to care about.
