Communication Breakdown Lyrics

Hey girl, stop what you're doin'
Hey girl, you'll drive me to ruin
I don't know what it is I like about you but I like it a lot
Won't you let me hold you, let me feel your loving touch

Communication breakdown
It's always the same
I'm...

NO NO NO !!! A song developed/thought of during the final months of the Yardbirds, late spring/early summer 1968. The purpose/meaning of the song was to describe the disintigrating business relationship the Yarbirds had with Epic Records and Columbia. Supposedly, there is version of "Communication Breakdown" rehearsed by the Yardbirds (probably during their studio visit at Columbia NYC, April 1968). Good luck ever seeing or hearing it... *NOTE Cumular LImits time frame... Same time that Yardies recorded "Knowing That I'm Losing You", to become "Tangerine" on ZEP III... go get it mang

Their least crude way of sayin' how mentally and sexually frustrating it can be to love someone so intensely, but have no way to express it verbally...or physically. Communication breakdown = nervous breakdown when you want to be with someone and it's mutual, yet unattainable. This one would seem like a typical male perspecive considering "all night" but communication implies something entirely different.

Communication is more psychological, more of a bonding experience and webster's describes it as an exchange; a conveyed meaning...an understanding(also, something about pheremones, which makes perfect sense; a biological reaction at the cellular level to this person like No Other!)

When what is easily and naturally conveyed and exchanged between two is for whatever Moral reason restricted, there exists a barrier; a communication breakdown where one is not interpreting the signals as clearly, which leads to frustration and ultimately many, many unpleasant emotions...an entire sea of turmoil, actually.

When there is mutual acceptance and a natural inclination to fall in love with a Particular person, these types of emotions can drive you insane, especially when through something like a song! Your mind is left in the trenches to battle every possibility, all in vein because you have no way to tell him "I love you so," confirmed with touch. It sux! Been there before and it takes a very, very long time to recover, if ever.

    Yeah, never...

Led Zeppelin I was mostly a cover album spare a few exceptions. This is an example of an original number.

The song was inspired by Eddie Cochran's nervous breakdown and featured a heavy, down-stroke guitar riff that is similar to the style of punk-rock which would emerge in the late 1970s.

The song itself is a love song. The narrator of is in love with a girl but cannot communicate with her. The term "communication breakdown" is not a reference to a faulty telephone but is rather metaphorical for the narrator's inability to communicate with her.

This is a song that the yardbirds used to do, except souped up a little. It's obviously just your run-of-the-mill blues-rock song, but played by zeppelin, who, in case you didn't know, were originally called The New Yardbirds

I think that the "communication" is that he tries to talk to a certain someone but "breaksdown" whenever attempting. That's why it drives him insane. Thats my point of view.

Simply about a guy telling a girl how she is driving him insane because he wants her so badly.
