Since I've Been Loving You Lyrics

Working from seven
To eleven every night
Really makes life a drag
I don't think that's right

I've really been the best, the best of fools
I did what I could, yeah
'Cause I love you, baby, how I love you, darling
How I love you, baby, my...

i disagree with most of the misinterpretations. i believe page is referring to a serious committed relation like marriage etc and the line 'working from 7 to 11 every night' actually refers to the time he spends with his lover/wife arguing or possibly fighting. He is frustrated with the recurring fights and the misunderstandings etc and the continuous mind torture he receives from her end. On a very basic level the song is portraying how a man goes through a failed relationship/marriage and how he deals with it. It also hints of a possible adultery from his wife's end. Repetition and the importance of the line 'working from 7 to 11' in the said song conforms to the above analysis.

The lyrics are pretty straight forward. Its about a man who works long hours to support his wife who is cheating on him. The line "I open my front door, hear my back door slam," means when the husband comes home through the front door, the wife's lover goes out the back door.

This is my all time favorite Zeppelin song. I've always thought this to be the definitive "MAN" song.

I don’t know about the whole ‘man busting his ass working long hard hours to satisfy his unfaithful woman’…. 7-11 is not long, hard hours nor is it a long time for him to be away from his woman so I don’t quite get it. Maybe he’s singing about the average time the band spends each night at the venue and on stage during one of their long shows. That’s the only job I can think of that he’d be working the 7-11 hours…… Unless he’s actually talking about 7AM-11PM…. If that’s the case then I completely understand his pain & it’s no wonder he’s upset and complaining.

Most of this is the exact lyrics to Never to Moby Grape... really what are you a retard or a tone deff??? Have you ever heard the two songs which are completely different in tempo , tone, melody, rythm just think that "Never" didn't got a proper guitar solo part while Zeps "S.I.B.L.Y" got one of most extatic and soulful heart breaking Pages guitar solo that could make your heart melt and the only resemblance of Zeps masterpiece "Since I've been loving you" with moby grapes "Never"is the opening lyrics:"Working for seven till eleven every night while grapes lyrics is the opposite: "working from eleven to seven etc..." so big deal you know nobody's got credits for the wonderful and most popular language in the world the English languageas as it is public domain and universal legacy for all people of this world for writing literature, operas librettos, poetry and of course songs for any kind instead of screaming like animals in jungles and the same goes with any language of the world and so shut your insolent mouth some of you smart asses stop crappy comments and lets enjoy music any kind and by any band of any genry that speaks straight to the heart and soul and leave aside pittyful comments and silly statements trying to play the role of a classic smart ass and making pittyful court cases where there isn't any and that is stupid to trying to imitate play the judge...so childish, so pathetic!!!

wow. pretty much this song is like a lot of old blues songs. It basically tells the story of a bad woman. They basically wanted this song to sound like it was played "live" and so therefore they spent time rehearsing and pretty much played it straight trough without any overdubs.

Since I've Been Loving You is track four of side one on the album Led Zeppelin III. It is a slow blues. It is a slow blues along a similar vein to Fleetwod Mac's Dreams. It was influenced, partly, by the Moby Grape song Never and became a live favourite very, very quickly.

Lyrically the song follows a popular form theme that is often present in both blues music and popular music. The theme of the man mistreated by his woman. The narrator has been working hard and making sacrifices for his woman but he receives nothing in return. This only leaves the man crying. The woman even commits adultery against him!

    It's pretty much that simple.

Tangerine was is most certainly about a girl Jimmy Page dated while he was an art student in the days before he became famous. In the song he looks back and regrets the loss of his most sincere relationship.

The whole album "Led Zeppelin three" is about the break up of a relationship Jimmy had been in with a young woman who left him for a close friend.
Jimmy regarded her as the love of his life but he lost her because he could not be faithful. He goes though a lot of pain but in the end accepts that she will be happier with his friend and only wants her happiness.
