How to Love Lyrics

Cut the music up
A little louder
You had a lot of crooks tryna steal your heart
Never really had luck, couldn’t never figure out
How to love
How to love

You had a lot of moments that didn’t last forever
Now you in the corner tryna put it...

This song is about a girl that has very low self esteem because of all these other guys that made her love them and they just broke her heart so now she just doesn't believe that she's beautiful on the inside and out. And wayne was telling her that she is beatiful and she has to figure out how to love someone instead of her loving every dude that comes her way and now every dude that stares at her she thinks she's even uglier by her self esteem being so low but their really staring at her beauty.so wayne is basically telling her not to love every boyfriend unless she knows they truly love her.

so a stripper song, gives it away here :

But I admire your poppin bottles and dippin’
Just as much as you admire bartending and stripping
For a second you were here
    Why you over there?
Its hard not to stare the way you moving your body
Like you never had a love
    Had a love

I'm a stripper, when I first heard this song it reminded me of how so many guys come in and want to be with me, but they don't want me. Its hard to figure out how to love if you never have someone that wants you for more than your body.
Whenever a girl is feeling down she usually sits in the corner off to herself.
Also "Its hard not to stare, the way you moving your body
Like you never had a love" Sounds like she danced but her heart wasn't in it, she was just going through the movements.
Sounds like she was a pretty child, and now that she is older she is so used to having men just want something from her that she feels insecure if they look at her in any other way.
Stripping makes you see some things.
Also you have to talk to the customers to make money, and it could be she didn't really want to listen or care, Anyways I don't know about the rest of it, but for me that's what it means.

A girl is dealing with self-esteem issues within herseslf. She does not allow herself in a relationship cause she feels she isn't worth loving. However in this song, Lil-Wayne tries to tell her that she has true inner and outer beauty and is truly appreciated and respected for it, but it is time the girl learns to appreciate herself, and like herself all over again. For, that is the first step to LOVE. With this, she will also learn and find a new meaning of love in her own unique way.

Sounds to me like he's talking to/and about a stripper that he grew up with.

He's saying that he understands that she didn't grow up wanting to be a stripper and that it's not her fault that she is.

Commenting on her experiences and how she's dancing as the result.

Reassuring her that he's not being judgmental, and that he accepts and admires her for what she is.

this song has to do with a girl that has low self-esteem and doesnt think that she is attractive so she turns to stripping so that people can see her as a beautiful person & find love. lil wayne is trying to tell her that she is beautiful inside & out & she doesnt need to strip to think of her self attractive but he still supports her choices.

I think this is more about the narrator who fell in love with a woman who was never loved the way the narrator thinks he could have loved her. It's a bit judgmental (pointing out stuff she may not wanna face) HOWEVER, the sentiment is well intentioned I think. Lil Wayne is expressing the feelings of someone who actually SEES a person but that person cannot be with him or her because she has not realized her true beauty and value on her own. The narrator is trying to point out her VALUE but she may or may not want to let that in. Maybe one day she will, but to me this song is about the narrator expressing that HE/SHE truly SEES her --- and LOVES her. The narrator appreciates the beauty, depth and value of this woman who cannot get there by herself, and so has endured a series of bad relationships because she doesn't understand TRUE value. The narrator wants her and wants to show her LOVE, but she isn't ready for REAL love, so the narrator is actually trying to tell her how truly beautiful she even if she doesn't want him/her. The narrator hopes she will one day understand this so that she will one day be able to know HOW TO LOVE and HOW TO BE LOVED.
