Linkin Park: A Line in the Sand Meaning
A Line in the Sand Lyrics
We laughed at the sun
We laughed at the guns
We laughed at it all
And when they
They told us to go
We paid them no mind
Like every other time
But little did we know
Today, I looked for a sign
With flames in...

The lyrics make me think of the fence/wall the US have built on their southern border attempting to stop illegal immigrants from entering the country.
As a Mexican I was taught about my Nation history, and a part of that is the Mexican-American war.
After losing the war we had to give the US a part of our territory.
The Mexican people on those territories were separated from their Nation.
That piece of land may belong to the US in treaties and papers, but our culture is still present on them and will be.
With Donald Trump promising to build a wall on the border, I think the US will be wasting a lot of resources, trust me, every Mexican and every South American immigrant will find a way to cross the border, if we can’t climb it, we’ll simply dig a tunnel below...
Not even the burning desert sun will stop them, not even your ‘migra’...
“Today
We stood on the wall
We laughed at the sun
We laughed at the guns
We laughed at it all...”
You may even kill them, but that won’t stop them from getting back what once was ours. -
This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

This is my favorite song, because it reminds me of my father and my vow for revenge. I think it tells a story of vengeance, of someone who was helpless at the time of the other person's deed. "Another day, your truth will come.." is what I'm talking about. Mostly the 'Another day' part. If you read Warriors (specifically Hawkwing's Journey), then you'll know who I'm talking about when I say that the song fits Hawkwing and Darktail perfectly. I can relate to this song very strongly. The end of the song would tell the story of Darktail's downfall, and Hawkwing's vengeance. "And so today, your truth has come.."

Looking for a way to be forgiven. Not knowing what he did wrong. And not paying attention to what he should have.
