Wisdom, Justice, And Love Lyrics

I come to this magnificent house of worship tonight because my conscience leaves me no other choice.
A true revolution of values will lay hands on the world order and say of war:
"This way of settling difference s is not just."
This business...

    Very interesting Quote from MLK.

Considering it's a prelude to Iridescent, I think that this quote serves as a great example of the Wars we face everyday in life.

The speech itself reminds us to speak out... and to not simply remain silent.

As the speech progresses on, a robot voice is heard instead of MLK, showing no emotion in the speech. By adding this, I believe that LP is signifying the motion of time. As time progresses, we as a world are becoming more emotionless and ruthless towards each other as a whole to the point of where more people exist to do more horrible things to each other.

A lot worse than Vietnam... in my opinion.

This intro is the storm that we all go through...

Iridescent... is the overwhelming calm we experience afterwards.

Its a very deep and very moving.

I would highly encourage those to give this intro a listen.

To me, Martin Luther King, Jr's words still have relevance, and I believe this track ties directly to the previous song, "Wretches and Kings" as well as "Iridescent', which transitions afterwards. Society has become apathetic and only those who see the "machine" for what it is, which is odious (repulsive); those who are sickened by it...only those can stop it. Others are blind to the truth, and even if they do see it, they ignore it; they are apathetic.

If wisdom, justice and love are the litmus test against which we put our actions, thoughts and words, and they don't pass, we must change. So much of what we do, what we say, how we think and plan, are not going to pass. They cannot be reconciled with wisdom, justice and love, especially love, which is the greatest of these.

Humanity is the machine when wisdom, justice and love are no longer part of the equation. We become blind, apathetic, and truly hateful...odious. There is no justification in The Word. Love is The Message

I think the wind effect and the robotic voice are symbols of change. The song is saying that we are changing, and for better or worse, only we can judge.

i couldnt have said it better myself. i must also add my point of view though. i believe the robotic voice heard towards the end is somewhat, in a way, signifying that we should, for the time being, halt our acceleration into robotics, for they could bring about our ultimate devastation. no, i am not crazy, nor dilusional, nor watched too many SciFi movies. i mearly believe that if we keep progressing in technology like we are, we will ultimately lose sight of who we are, and the machine will become our dictator. if you listen to "Wretches and Kings", i will hope you see part of it from my point of view.
