What does Good Enough mean?

Little Mix: Good Enough Meaning

Album cover for Good Enough album cover

Good Enough Lyrics

I am the diamond you left in the dust
I am the future you lost in the past
Seems like I never compared
Wouldn't notice if I disappeared

You stole the love that I saved for myself
And I watched you give it to somebody else
But these scars...

personally I think the song has multiple meanings. The one meaning that stands out to you is what you've been through.

To me the song is about not being able to please everyone. Working so hard to make others happy but each time you get proven that you're not good enough. That you'll never be a good daughter, sister, friend, student etc.

At the end of the song it's like acceptance, you accept that you're not good enough for everyone around you but yourself. The only person you're good enough for is yourself.

To me it seems as if the person is stronger now, but they have a bad past. They felt the need to change themselves just to be approved from others which is the "Am I still not good enough?" So maybe the person is wondering like i`ve been broken once before, I am stronger but I`m still not okay. Very sad meaning to a song. Also maybe it has something to do with all the hate that many people face today. All the lives lost and the love left behind because of today`s society. Yes, they`re making a point that they are stronger and better now ,but the question is do you approve of me now? or am i worthy enough for you.

This song is really kinda telling or well asking in a sense. To another person is am I good enough?
What have I done to not deserve your love?
I think kids whose parents don't act nice toward them should play this song and perhaps get a message across before it's too late.

This song has multiple meanings to me:
    1. They have just had a break up and are thinking that they were not good enough
    2. They aren’t able to please every one
    3. It may also be about how confident they were when they first came into the relationship and then
“You stole the love that I saved for myself,
And I watched you give it to someone else”
Meaning she poured all of her own love to him but she caught him cheating on her.

I think it was a break-up song where the girl felt she had to change her personality for the guy and finally decides that she can be herself

This song has a lot of potential interpretations, but some of the ones that stood out to me are:
You can't always please the people that matter most to you. Sometimes, just being who you are and having normal human emotions and behaviors can be shamed and pointed out as wrong or substandard by people who may secretly have these flaws themselves. Moving on from this and deciding to be who you are no matter how other people decide to react is part of growing up and feeling worthy of your own love, the love that you 'saved for yourself'.

Sometimes, you may feel like you'll never be worthy of certain things and no matter what you try to change about yourself that'll never change. But that's exactly why you should keep growing and keep being who you are, because even when people try to tear you down you'll always be good enough for someone, and that someone can help you realize your worth.

I think it's that you don't think that you're good enough and that you are full of insecurities and you hate yourself from a past relationships with boy/girl.

I think it is about how someone she gave all her love to gave it away and she feels like she must not have been good enough and thats why they left her. Thats what i would think at first glance. But it doesnt make sense to me. Ever since the first time i heard this song i've been confused about the message. Is it about the person not having confidence about themselves anymore? If so then why do they say "sorry for the smile i'm wearing now" and the band's vibe is the total opposite of a self deprecating one-- they promote positivity and self love and being strong-- it just doesn't seem like their type of song. So i think its much more than what i first said and it means that she has moved on from that heartbreak and is showing that person who she is now and learning a lesson from them

i think this about a girl who has just left a relationship bcos the guy has cheated on her and now she's like, why would you do that, i guess i;m not asvaluable as i thought. maybe b4 this relationship, she was actually quite confident, but then this guy cheats on her and 'stole the love i saved for myself'. i mean idek i'm just guessing here

in my opinion, this song is about the pain someone has had to go through, dealing with their self worth. i think this song talks about someone who has trusted someone else, but then has been mistreated, causing their trust to be broken in this person.

the song ends with saying a mixture of things: this is me, and i'm sorry that you've been too blind to see. all said in an almost self-loathing way.

**i'm not good enough in your standards.
you've only been causing me more pain even though i've trusted you.**

i think it is about self harming but also about someone leaving you behind when you most needed them

I agree with the comment above, except I think she is now more confident and the question "Am I still not good enough" is more like irony. It seems to me that what happened changed her and now she says "Look at me now, look what I accomlished a try to tell me I am not good enought."

    Basically saying,
you have affected me more than you know, but I'm strong.
I am stronger than you, and although it hurts, I have learned.
I took the pain and used it as a drive.
    I proved you wrong.
But am I'm still not good enough yet.
