Lovejoy: Taunt Meaning
Song Released: 2021
Taunt Lyrics
As if auspicious or in my pint
I'll find the answer or a good night
Thank God the time is short
And, yes, you always do that one thing
When you wrinkle up the nose bridge
I'm trying to figure out what...

#1 top rated interpretation:I think this song is about men refusing to take ‘no’ as an answer to romantic advancements.
The woman in the song dumps her drink on the narrators head, runs away from their table for supposed phone calls and bathroom breaks, and wrinkles her nose up. The narrator sees this as a ‘taunt’, the same way a lot of men think rejections are just women playing ‘hard to get’. The narrator also thinks that she’s lying about staying away from catcalls, the way a lot of men view catcalling as an enjoyable compliment.
I think he thinks she’s insecure when really she’s just afraid of him. -
I think this song is about a guy who is good friends with a beautiful and desirable girl. People pursue her but she's developed feelings for him as he is the only one she wants. Hes confused by advances and doesn't understand why she's so nervous around him. She "never had anyone say no to her" back then in school. But he's a listener, genuinely trying to help. She eventually leaves and claims she doesn't know the cab number, wanting the narrator to walk her home, but hes clueless and she frustrates him. so she throws her drink on him.

I think this song is about pretty privelage, and how the girl feels insecure? It seems like the guy is fed up of it.
