   Ok so Josh is singing this song about a girl he wants to start a relationship with, but it isn't working.
   
   I don't patronise, I realise I'm losing and this is my real life
   He says that he can't start a relationship with her
   
   I'm half asleep and I'm wide awake
   Josh is half asleep because he isn't moving foreward in the relationship, but he's wide awake because he knows it's going bad.
   
   This habit is always so hard to break
   When you get used to being with someone in a certain way, it's hard to move forward. Maybe they never talk so he doesn't know how to suddenly change that and approach her, or maybe they're friends and it's hard to be more.
   
   I don't wanna be the bad guy
   He doesn't wanna be that guy who no one likes
   
   I've been blaming myself and I think I know why
   He admits that it's his fault she doesn't like him back
   
   I'm killing time and times killing you every way that I do
   Josh is saying that he is doing nothing about his relationship, but as time goes on, his chances are less and less
   
   Did you say please just follow me I thought you wanted me cos I want you all to myself
   He wants the girl to tell him that she likes him
   
   I can try and suck it up I just can't suck it up make me feel like someone else
   He is trying to suck it up and move on from her because it's not working, but he just can't live without her. If he's with her, he won't feel like a loser who can't get a girlfriend

   Josh knows he has to do something now, because she's the one he wants to be with
   
   I just can't decide what I'm running from
   He's nervous about talking to her, but he doesn't know why because it's not helping him
   
   This isn't what I wanted but I can't keep my filthy 'f'ing mouth shut
   When he tries to talk to her, it didn't go the way he planned, cos he always says something dumb and messes up
   
   It's not enough it's never enough and I wish I could breathe without getting it stuck
   He's never good enough when he talks to her because he's nervous so he comes across as an idiot, and he just wants it to go right for once
   
   Can't focus it but I'm trying over and over again
   Even if he can't get it right, he keeps on trying
   
   Then the chorus is the same and there an awesome guitar solo

   In my opinion, this song is about a guy who wants to get together with someone. The "I thought you wanted me, cause I want you all to myself" part hints at this. However, he contradicts himself a little when he says "I just can't decide what I'm running from", since this indicates that he is running from whoever it is he wants to be with. I think that means that he's a little bit scared to show his feelings, i.e., he's running from them. Some parts of the song I really can't explain, and by Sherlock Holmes that would mean my idea is wrong, but I can't think of another way to explain the lyrics ;)
