I believe the song is about a nuclear holocaust. Fire could mean a nuclear explosion killing everything and that would explain millions of our years in minutes dissapears. The winter could be explained by a nuclear winter that occurs after a nuclear bomb is detinated.

The most obvious idea that this song is about is nuclear holocaust, and the earth left utterly destroyed with no living conditions. Its after a lot of political conflict, (another World war?)and the "deadly nicotine" means we're addicted to nuclear technology. There's enough to Blacken everything. The verse that says "opposition, termination," etc. is the political conflict leading to nuclear war. When it says "see our mother die", it means Mother nature

I dont know what the line "all is said and done, never is the sun" is about.

pollution. Blackened is about how humans polluting will eventually cause the end of earth and how literers ect. are the 'nicotine' of earth giving it cancer, turning it black and basically killing it.

SIMPLY Blackened refers to a scorching of the earth by non specific means...it is important to listen to what is NOT said as well as the exact word choices without loose interpretation e.g., "never is the sun..." imho that points to ancient gnostic concepts such as negation of exsistence not found in common religious texts. As with many of their earlier songs that have apocalyptic content, the listener may wonder how they have such intel that is not verbatim from scripture. The answer is simple, they are sell outs- puppets to the entertainment Industry's agenda, the same status quo they claimed to despise. Ask them how they like their gold swimming pool.

The line "all is said and done, never is the sun" means a nuclear war us against whomever, obviously there will be an unheard amount launched and detonated, well that's basically what will happen nuclear blackout for no telling how many years the sun can't penetrate to the suface and heat our planet so crops won't grow, animals will die from the cold and lack of food contaminated from radiation. "All is said and done" once we launch a nuclear weapon that's it! Goodbye people.

I think it is about the earth coming to an end because of nuclear warfare.

If you really listen it's about the sun burning out or going nova. But it could be about a bunch of other things that could destroy the planet.

I believe this song is about the world coming to a end in a horrible way-possible a nuc. There are many ends they can be referring to, one things for sure its our falt.

This song is obviously written about the world coming to an end as we know it.
