The story behind the song was about a young girl and boy. After the girl broke the boys heart he wrote that song '25 minutes' and gave it to MLTR to sing as a dedication from that boy to that girl when they went on their Tour in America. So they did sing it. And she heard that song. But at the Same time a lot of people committed suicide. So they banned MLTR from making music for some time. But now they still perform live. They came to my country twice.
But anyways that's the story I heard. -
I think it's about a girl that broke up with a man because of all the mistakes he did.. But the man decided to finally say sorry and ask the girl to marry him... But when he finally found her, it was her wedding day with another man althought the girl still loved him.
For me the lesson was:
Don't waste anytime time. Do what you want to do.
Because one minute it's there and then the next, it's gone. -

This line means that the singer has already plans to "Make her his". I meant, propose (maybe?) to her.
"I'm searching everywhere
to find her again
To tell her I love her
And I'm sorry 'bout the things I've done"
He's been looking for her as he wants to tell her what he wanted to tell her and apologizing for the wrongs he had done.
"I find her standing in front of the church
The only place in town where I didn't search
She looks so happy in her wedding dress.
But she's crying while she's saying this"
As he was searching for the girl, he finds out that she is getting married with another man while he is away. The singer thought that she's happy with another man. Though she really isn't.
"Boy I've missed your kisses
All the time but this is
25 minutes too late
Though you've traveled so far
Boy I'm sorry You are
25 minutes too late."
This is what the girl actually feels inside. She indeed still loves the boy. She's not actually happy with the man that she's going to marry.
"Against the wind
I'm going home again
Wishing me back
To the time when we were more than friends"
Heartbroken, he quits on his plan to "make her his". instead wishes that they were "more than friends".
"But still I see her in front of the church
The only place in town where I didn't search
She looks so happy in her wedding dress
But she's crying while she's saying this."
The scene in the first pre-chorus flashes back in his mind again.
"Boy I've missed your kisses
all the time but this is 25 minutes too late
though you've traveled so far
boy I'm sorry you are 25 minutes too late."
"Out in the streets
places where hungry hearts have nothing to eat
Inside my head
still I can hear the words she said."
This is what the singer felt after what happened. He now realizes what she really felt after marrying another man.
*oops sorry guys. I'm sorry if the interpretation is a little "out of place". :)) It's my first time to interpret a song.
