I Will Wait Lyrics

And I came home
Like a stone
And I fell heavy into your arms
These days of darkness
Which we've known
Will blow away with this new sun

And I'll kneel down
Wait for now
And I'll kneel down
Know my ground

And I will wait, I will wait...

This song in my opinion is about waiting for that person. When your willing to wait for them because you are supposed to be together but the times not right yet.

Never is a song thought the same by two people. WE each have our own imaginations, and in our own minds we all have a different video. Different actors/actress in this video that plays in our heads as well as the meaning. I love that songs like this touches so many because it has no specifics. In my opinion it could be spiritual for those who are of a spiritual nature. If the song was performed by a or written by a woman some would look at it differently, from a gender perspective. I love songs like this as it has no gender. It may be about two women for some. In my mind,it plays out as two men. I don't know what has taken place to make one of those men see what he can't live with out. That video out of my head and on TV not likely. Not main stream now is it.

Not really sure of the meaning but have my own thoughts. He cares deeply for someone. This someone has accepted him and all his flaws. This someone is not ready to give herself yet so he will be patient and wait for her.

I actually believe that the song ties in both religion and love.

There is a powerful sense that he is speaking to his love and telling her that he has seen the error in his ways. He loves her and is grateful that she has found it in her heart to forgive him. They will live their lives serving God, get strength through God and be forever happy.

The chorus "I will wait, I will wait for you" is saying that he will wait for her to find it in her heart to forgive him and realize that he has changed for her.

Well Im not a religiuos person, but he is defnitly singing about God,he mite not sing it directly like that.
If one listens to most of the songs,he sings in some songs about he's 'flesh that needs to be stripped' ,'clear the my mind from the lei's.
He sings in the song babel about the fals world sistem we as humans try to copy.
In most of he's songs he sings about humilty, how he wants to stay humble.'Keep the earth below my feet''keep my eyes decirned my hand to learn'It's all biblical figures.
I believe this guy had a incounter or a revelation of the living God.
In I will wait he is defnitly singing about God.In his own way he actualy go's into worship' i kneel down, all my crown'rise my hands bow my head, fill my heart and sole'
I'm not saying he is a religiuos freak he is just sing about his own experiences of how week he is as a human, but he know where he's source of strenght and life comes from if he humbles himself.
That's the beauty of music just a expresion of whats going on in ones heart mind and soul.

I hate to break it to you, but this guy is a religious zealot.

    This song is about religion.

It's not even a good song, it just has a hook. Lots of crap has hooks.

This interpretation has been marked as poor. view anyway

As I had read other interpretations, some believe the new sun is actually meant as a new son. I have seen a lot of religious takes on this song, but I don't believe it is entirely religious.

It seems the character in the songs story is living in a time of darkness. A time where nothing is going right. I believe that perhaps the wife of the character, and the character himself are in a time of depression, and the man is so strung out with life, that he is considering ending his life. But then finds out of a new child that may be born.

Realizing that the wife is pregnant, he has to find the courage to fight through everything that goes wrong in his life to live to see his son. "I will wait, I will wait for you" is the man talking himself into waiting for his son to be born.

    " You forgave, and I won't forget"
I believe that is the religious part of the song. That could be him talking to God, or whatever spiritual figure he may believe in that blessed him with a child, when instead his life could have ended. Now his life has more meaning, and he is not forgetting the good that can come in life, which also helps find the will to live for the birth of his son.

I could be completely wrong, but the song seems to have a minor feel to it, so it is more of a sad sound. So I could view it as being about depression.

As stated in other comments, A Christian would be able to interpret these lyrics easily. They that wait upon the lord, shall renew their strength. Isaiah 40:31. The bible tells us to wait, for Jesus Christ is going to return. When we accept Christ in our hearts, he forgives us. You forgave, and I wont forget. I'm waiting, are you? Jesus is coming back, really soon! God Bless you all!

I believe that the song is about waiting for something. That even though things may not go as they seem at first, they will work out in the end. - Stone;)

    I think it's about Amazon.

He ordered something and came home late and missed the UPS delivery so he's very sorry for that.

He contacted customer support and they told him he's gonna have to wait another 2 weeks until the item is available again.

So he will wait, he will wait, for it.

What does everyone think the line "Him with less" mean or imply?

    So break my step
    And relent
You forgave and I won't forget
    Know what we've seen
    And him with less
    Now in some way
    Shake the excess

I think we all see different meanings to this some the jesus christ thing. Some see the whole cheated on girl friend but now he wants her back so he will wait for her. Like I see this guy that will wait for a girl who is dating some one else. We all see what we wanna see when it comes to the meaning of songs.
