Bizarre Love Triangle Lyrics

Every time I think of you
I feel shot right through with a bolt of blue
It's no problem of mine
But it's a problem I find
Living a life that I can't leave behind
There's no sense in telling me
The wisdom of the fool won't set you free
But that's...

Yes, that one person mentioned the song was about Ian Curtis, the singer of the band Joy Division. It is accurate, but he failed to mention Curtis committed suicide, was having affair, yes also was epileptic but he also asked Bernard Sumner if he can choose for him as to what girl he should be. Look it up.

One thing I love about New Order (and I love many things about them for sure) is that the lyrics of some of their best songs can easily fit multiple (almost all) situations. You can apply the lyrics of BLT to just about anything that you're going through in life, if you think about it. Trying to narrow this song down to one singular message is insulting to its beauty. Great song!

Nope, nothing to do with "love triangles" or male/female relationships.

Actually, one of the band members said the song0 was basically an ode to Ian Curtis, their original singer who took his own life years ago. He epilepsy and would sometimes fall on stage, hence "every time I see you falling, I get down on my knees and pray."

Bizarrely - some verse seems to come from partner / observer / himself (presumed).

    him,...............
    I do admit to myself
That if I hurt someone else
Then I'll never see just what we were meant to be.

    partner or observer, ........
Every time I see you falling
I get down on my knees and pray
I'm waiting for that final moment
You say the words that I can't say

    partner to ???
But there's no sense in telling me
The wisdom of the fool won't set you free
But that's the way that it goes
    And it's what nobody knows
Well every day my confusion grows

    Addictions need interventions.

I am shocked no one has even mentioned what I feel strongly what it's about but I also feel I was drawn to it by it just popping in my head and was put there by a deseeced loved one I had this issue with... I wonder if he is trying to tell me something about the relationship but the other time he did it was shortly after he died when he brought Howard Jones No ones to Blame. This song is the same thing. Guess if you've never been in this situation you wouldn't understand. So here it goes in a bit shell.

Guy is married... and his marriage sucks but he is committed but also is an influential person in the community and a divorce would be a bigger deal than most. Girl loves guy and he loves her but she comes BACK into his life after he was married.... They knew each other for a VERY long time... a time when their relationship was forbidden. As time goes by they find each other and everything picks up where it left off except now their relationship isn't forbidden anymore... at least due to age. Now its forbidden cause he is married... But now the only thing standing in their way was a marriage and some distance... They confide in each other and tell each other things they would never tell anyone else... They become even closer. Now their relationship was not part of the other parts of their lives and their relationship was a secret... So the Guy is torn because for whatever reason he has a promise to his current wife. But his current wifes relationship is pretty non existent.... The other girl loves him and would do just about anything to be together... except cheat... So she holds off and so does he because she doesn't want to have a sex affair with him... He wants this girl really badly and she wants him really badly and he is stuck in his current obligation. She tries to move on and dates and they're still talking and being close... Every time she meets a new guy and he is interested in her he gets jealous even though he has no right. Either way falling has a double meaning... falling as in love... and falling as in trouble and needs him but he can't do anything... waiting for the final moment where you say the words that I can't say also has a double meaning. You find this often in songs cause they have only a few verses to get their feelings out and perhaps they feel clever? 1 hr wants his wife to ask him for a divorce because then he can keep his promise and be free and also the words I love you.

Well that's where the song ends... and my story goes on... at least what I am getting from the message in the song... The Guy... after some time she moves away because her life made it so she had to... Meanwhile he is dealing with being caught talking to the girl. And wife sees they're talking about getting together in person and other romantic stuff... She is angry at him...

The girl who moved away who he had just been with left him a letter. Asking him to please come see her and hoped he would figure out what he wants to do with his marriage... She loves him but tells him she supports any decision he makes so long as he is happy... But he isn't... everything he wants is in this girl... a chance to even have a child he always wanted but couldn't have with his wife... He thinks he has all of this time to be with her and to figure out a way out of his current situation. As he reads her letter he reads the end.... I love you. Something he never got to tell her... Within the week he has a heart attack and dies... Now there is no more tomorrow (why can't we be like how we were yesterday... alive) and no more chances and all of their dreams die along with him.... Now she suffers... no matter what she has lost all desire to be with someone else... Years go by... His spirit stays with her waiting for her final day... As he vows he couldn't be with her in life and do he will be with her in death. All of these moments happen in her life that she feels like it they were together they would be enjoying... Now she is with her old bf because she got sick and he helps her... Her and her old bf have a relationship how the guys was with his wife... He is there to witness it all but is left helpless. Nearly all of their entire life something or someone in some way was between them... stopping them. He dies... and the Bizarre Love Triangle is still going on. She still wants him and misses him and can't move on... and neither can he... Will they ever? Maybe when she dies... and they walk into oblivion together holding hands...

I knew he loved me even though he never told me. He was the only man who showed it. No one else has ever done that and is a rare thing to find these days. Because, I'm often perceived as being too good to be true so some because of how hard I try to do good and the right thing no matter what and often pondered the big questions in life... unlike anyone he had ever known... but he was afraid that I wouldn't be what I seemed to be... but I was.

But if he doesn't hurt someone else he can never know what we were meant to be...

At anytime I would have dropped who I was to be with him if he said so and he knew it... but every time I found someone new he would say don't and how he was jealous even though he had no right. Then our relationship would advance. I wonder where it would have gone if he was still alive today? How much longer would he have made me wait?

i think it is silly to argue over the meaning of a song only the band or even the songwriter knows what the lyrices are truely about.
for me a song means different things to different typs of people. it touches everybody differently...so drugs, women, sex or all three.
i dont personally relate it to anything of the above only the memories that the song brings in a particular part of my life.

I also believe it is about a bizarre love triangle between Love and drugs and himself.
Every time I see you falling
I get down on my knees and pray
I'm waiting for that final moment
You'll say the words that I can't say
(An addict is the only one that can make the choice when enough is enough)

I agree with this:"It's no problem of mine but it's a problem I find, living a life (drugs), I can't leave behind."
Whether or not this is a personal note to Ian I am not going to speculate but he definitely had his fair share of issues.

Lastly love does not have to mean sexual it could be the love for a friend brother etc.

Are you fucking insane??? This song was written by JoyDivision's drummer and it was written for his dead best friend Ian Curtis ...it has nothing to do with sex or loving a woman Read the part when it says EVERYTIME I SEE YOU FALLIN I GET DOWN ON MY KNEES AND PRAY . Ian Curtis had epilepsy, really be CLEVER or read before saying something dumb.

I thought it is about loving a Person he/she can´t because she has already a Partner, a love triangle. He whishes that they could get the relationship back the way it was before, or her everytime she gets hurt by her partner ,so that he could get in his place and be at her side. And that is bizzare. But it´s some kind of to obvious if it´m honest. But awesome and true told about the feelings inside a feeling and confused person, i see my own actions in it.

i thought this song was about a love for a woman alone. it can't be about addiction otherwise he'd be Mr. Wrong.

I've been singing along this song for years and years but today I think I finally realize what this song really means. I feel this song is about the love triangle between a man's love/addiction to his drugs and his love/passion for a woman. He's in denial about his addiction when he says, "It's no problem of mine but it's a problem I find, living a life (drugs), I can't leave behind." When he says, "Every time I see you falling, I get down on my knees and pray," it implies the guilt he feels when the woman he loves falls for his lies. He's waiting for that final moment, she's say the words that he can't say..which is to confront him of his addiction and leave him so he can do his drugs. When he says, "I feel fine and I feel good. I feel like I never should," he's talking about his love of drugs...probably ecstasy. He then just wants them to be the way they were like yesterday..when she just provided the high for him..temporarily satiating his desire for drugs.
