#1 top rated interpretation:IF you've seen the video to this song... The concept is amazing... The numbers above the people's heads counting down their lives... And if you could see those numbers, you could save people... "say it if it's worth savin' me" is a way of saying that if you could do something to help a person... Do it before time runs out... Very cool video... :)

#2 top rated interpretation:I don't think it has to be religious (though there are definite parallels between what the song talks about, and what a lot of religions talk about).
The song is all about second chances. I think the guy in the song has gotten himself into a bad place ("Heaven’s gates won’t open up for me/With these broken wings I’m fallin’") possibly crime, love-sick-depressed, maybe its an addiction of some sort.
But he knows he's trapped ("Prison gates won’t open up for me...Well I’m terrified of these four walls").
He can't turn it around on his own, But he does want to turn it around ("And teach me wrong from right/And I’ll show you what I can be").
He feels alone/abandoned ("These city walls ain’t got no love for me") and he's almost ready to give up ("I’m on the ledge of the eighteenth story")
He's needs help from someone (friend, girlfriend, God, etc), but he needs someone ("All I need is you/Come please I’m calling") who believes that he's worth saving ("Say it for me, Say it to me, And I’ll leave this life behind me, Say it if it’s worth saving me")
The second chances theme kinda fits with the video clip too. -

#3 top rated interpretation:I think it is a challenge. We look to God or someone in authority to solve our problems and the problems of those around us, but what are we doing to fix them? Most of the time we wonder around oblivious to others needs even though in many cases they are screaming at us to pay attention. I don't think this is a call to God as much as it is to the average person. No matter what faults you have, no matter what has happened in the past, you have the power to change someone elses life for the better. The question is, is it worth it to you to lend a helping hand?

It’s easy to assume that this is heavily linked to some sort of religious theme, but I really believe it goes beyond that constraint. It is about someone who feels as though they are bound and defined by their own burdens and sufferings. Whether it’s a depressed individual, a person suffering from addiction, or any other target group; they question their existence and need someone to save them, but they also don’t even know if they’re worth saving from the deep hole they’ve dug themselves into.
All they want is someone to reaffirm that they deserve to continue living their life, and that they are worth saving — from anyone, such as friends, family, or God; just anyone to tell them that they are worth the life they are given. -
Me personally I think the song is about him dealing with depression and he feel lost in life and he needs somebody to come save him from this pain that he is having and the next verse is him thinking thays it's to late to save him so he feels like that when the time for him to due hes going to hell so he still wishing that somebody can still help him to me thays what I got out of it it might not be the case but that's how I'm picturing it

So he is saved from having no other choice than to let her go. "She needs to find her way and let go also and enter heaven."

This song has a deep powerful meaning to me. What the lyrics mean is there is a person (man or woman) who is battling a severe addiction who falls in love with someone who does not have the addiction. This person wants badly to give up their addiction but needs to hear the person they love say they are worth saving from this addiction and that they love the addict as well. If the addict can see they are worth saving by the one they love the addict can then show them what they really can be. The addict just needs to be shown what its like to still be able to stand in true love before they get their next fix. That's why they are begging to be saved.

I believe that this song is about someone who feels lost in this world, lost for meaning in life.

I don't necessarily think he's reaching out to God. But anyone, someone he loves, to save him. And he'll turn a new page and start again.

I think the guy has a power that he was given from God to prove that he is worthy to be in heaven because in his past he has done some bad things. God is giving him an opportunity to make up for those mistakes.

Ok, I thought it was going in this direction at first. "Prison's gates won't open up for me". He is in stuck inside maybe a real prison or a metaphorical prison and desperately wants to get out but there is no way out but to kill himself. Hence, "Iron bars can't hold me soul in". So, if he kills himself, at least his soul can escape. Onto the second verse, it sounds like he killed himself, and his soul got OUT, but now heaven's gates won't let him IN. So now I thought he is plummeting back down to earth with his broken wings after being rejected from heaven. Then the next part is where it gets confusing. Seems to me he is standing on the ledge contemplating suicide, but how can he do that if he already committed suicide in the real or metaphorical prison? Sooo, I got nothing after that.

ok this has nothing to do with religion or anything. do any of you remember the guy looking around then he saves the guy from walking into traffic, whom then can see numbers above peoples head. its just saying that if you had the chance to save somebody do it before time runs out so that person can save somebody else... thats just my opinion all i know is this has nothing to do with religion and he is definitely not jesus

My Interpretation comes from watching the video. I Don't believe it to be a Jesus/G-d situation, more of something that no one can explain. He is so shocked at the fact that he could of died he thinks he delusional, seeing numbers above peoples heads but upon seeing the old woman die, he realises that the man who saved him passed his gift onto him - the ability to see how long humans have to live and he realises that he must save someone and pass this gift on to continue the cycle. He attempts to check his own counter to see if he can find out how long he has to live, but realises that anyone with that sort of burden thrust upon them could avoid death or would live in fear, so the gift does not show him. He then see's a woman with an extremely low counter and realises that she is about to die so he saves her, passing on the gift.

my interpretation of this song is i think he sees life through another persons eyes like he wants to walk in their shoes or he thinks what it would be like in someones world where there not as better off as him as if he has saved someone and has now seen how harsh life is to them how unlucky in life they are "show me what its like to be the last one standing and teach me wrong from right"...on the other hand i also think from this song there is a certain person who he is waiting for to save him with the words i love you like he's madly in love with a girl but shes not as interested as he is and hes coming close to suicide over it like he cant deal with the fact she doesnt feel the same as him "say it for me say it to me and i'll leave this life behind me say it if its worth savin me" exactly my point.

I think it's a song about Nickelback's (or Chad Kroeger's) moral downfall upon joining the music industry. The song was released at the period when the band was at the turn of its fame. Musicians have attested to having to "sell their soul to Satan" in order to make it big in the industry. I think the persona must have experienced this moral degradation in the pursuit of fame and success, and now he realizes that all he's going is walking down the path to his own destruction. Towards hell. That is the reference to "heaven's gates won't open up for me."
Desperate, he calls out to God and begs Him to help him because he's "on the ledge of the 18th story", "falling." He has no one else to turn to -- an earthly lover or friend will not see the depths of his soul and his desperation. Only his creator will understand, his maker. He only has God left to turn to, and he knows that he needs it because he's near death (physical or spiritual).
It's a very desperate song, a last cry out for help. It's a song about him deciding the path of his soul. That's why there's so much emotion in the lyrics and music.
What was the answer? Did he continue seeking the help of God? Seeing their songs today, like "Rockstar"...I sadly think not. -
I think it's like asking God if you're worth saving. If you are then you can change and be a better person like he wants you to be but you he helps to do what he wants you too.
