Molly's Lips Lyrics

She said
She’d take me anywhere
She’d take me anywhere
As long as she stays with me
She said
She’d take me anywhere
She’d take me anywhere
As long as I stayed clean
Kiss, kiss
Molly’s lips

Definitely a Vaseline song. They're scottish and so am I and they're quite big here.

"There he is provided with an attendant nurse: an elderly, thick-lipped woman named Moll, with crosses of bone on either ear representing the two thieves crucified with Jesus on Good Friday, and a crucifix carved on her tooth representing Jesus. The two eventually begin a stumbling sexual affair, but after a while she does not return, and he learns that she has died.
This is from "Malone Dies" which is a novel by Samuel Beckett. Kurt was reading this book and maybe The Vaselines led him to that.

This isn't their song, it was originally written by the vaselines, they were like Kurts favorite band so nirvana covered, they also covered Son of a gun and jesus doesnt want me for a sunbeam by them

'Incesticide' was a compilation released by Geffen to fill the gap between 'Nevermind' and 'In Utero.' It featured Nirvana B-sides, rarities and unreleased tracks. Molly's Lip's, a Vaselines cover, was recorded @ a John Peel (BBC) session and first appeared on the 'Hormoaning, 1992 Australian Tour ep.' A Subpop split single came out a year earlier, in 1991, featuring Nirvana doing a live cover of Molly's Lips.

Francis Bean Cobain was named after Francis Farmer who was an actress, not after a guy in a band. Courtney even wore her dress.(to their wedding I think.)

On the Incesticide album Kurt did a lot of cover songs and molly's lips was one of them. Now besides that what does the song mean?

This song is not by the Wipers or Nirvana and was not written by Kurt Cobain. It was written by Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee and was a song for their band THE VASELINES. It's about a t.v. personality in Scotland.

I just listened to the song on 'The Vaselines - All the Stuff and More'
The song IS by Eugene Kelly and Frances Kelly and is about scottish TV personality Molly Weir. Known to many in the UK as 'Hazel McWitch' from the bizzare 80's comedy 'Rentaghost'

"Molly's Lips" was written by Eugene Kelly and Francis McKee of the Vaselines. They also wrote "Son of a Gun". Nirvana also covers the Greg Sage and the Wipers song "D7". All three of these songs appeared on the Hormoaning EP. I have no idea what any of these cover songs are about.

This song was a Wipers song. Kurt did not write it, he covered it. The song is on Insesticide.

Hey, check your CDs. This ain't a Nirvana song. They Performed it, but (I don't have the disc in front of me) I believe it is a song by another grunge band called The Wipers.

So, Kurt didn't mean anything when he wrote this song because.... well, he didn't write it.

It's about one of Kurt Cobain's girlfriends, she was threatening to leave him if he didn't reamin "clean." The true meaning of clean is assumed to be stay out of police trouble, but with Cobain's look on life, this can't be entirely confirmed.
