#1 top rated interpretation:This was a song that was kind of hard to interprate but what I see is thy it is a Christian song. He says "the princess in her flower bed" he is talking about Eve in the Garden of Eden. "pulled the jungle under groundl" he is refering to when man sinned for the first time. "where cherry bombs stained the black birds red" this represents the blood of Christ. "oh comet come down!" he is saying for God to come down and help him through his life. "and I come alive!" he is saying that he understands what is happening through God and he is suddenly back in real life. "my captain on his snowy horse, is coming back to take me home" he is tanking about God taking him to heaven, his real home. "I'm not afraid to die alone" he says he is not afraid to say what he believes and be the only one who believes it. I searched "ember glow" in the Bible and came up with this verse: Psalms 102: 3 and it says: "For my days vanish like smoke; my bones burn like glowing embers." I akso saw this verse a little further down: Psalms 112: 6-7. It says: "I am like a desert owl, like an owl among the ruins. I lie awake; I have become like a bird alone on a roof." this is probably one of Adams favorite verses becaue it describes him so well. "brave down the open road" he means to go down a path and be brave and share about God with everyone. He says "with an Eagle Eye" I think this means that he will try to spot all the things that he thinks are right.

I believe it has to reference Genesis-Revelation and the spiritual battle. The Princess being Eve and when she bit the fruit she pulled the earth into sin. Explosions never making a sound having to do with sin blowing us up. Comet come down as in Gods presence coming to protect us. The whole 2nd verse has to do with the 2nd coming. Jesus coming back to take us home in the Rapture and then we Battle Satan in the battle of Armageddon. Not being afraid to die alone through God is mentioned in the Bible.

I agree with the last (long) sentence because I love it and whenever I hear it i can feel God with me even more through my hard times.It really helps me remember i dont need to be afraid, my god is with me and (even though it's a very solemn thought) if I do die I will be my Lord God and I do not need to be afraid of death, pain or struggle. I'm so glad Adam decided to make "All things Bright and Beautiful" in the image of God.

I think the lyric "Maybe I'll fly with the eagle eye" might relate to the fact that the eagle was attributed to a gospel because it was believed to be the only bird able to look at the sun. So it would mean he'd be able to look straight at the truth.

Ok, so basically this song is about war.
"The princess in her flower bed, pulled a jungle underground" - the start of a war.
"Where cherry bombs turn the blackbirds red, and explosions never make a sound" - There's bombs, and there's blood everywhere.
"Kamikaze over me, my midnight melody" - there's suicide bombers flying overhead, and they have to sleep like that at night.
"My captain on a snowy horse, is coming back to take me home" - he is waiting for God to take him home to heaven because he thinks he will die in the war.
"He'll find me fighting back the terrible thwarts, 'cause I'm not afraid to die alone" - fights in the war and isn't afraid to die while doing so.
"Maybe I'll ride, to save my life" - he thinks it over and he DOES care about his life, so he comes up with a plan to save his life.
"Maybe I'll fly, with an eagle eye" - his plan is to do an aerial attack on the opposite side, but he has to keep an eye out for other planes or anything out to get him.
In conclusion, it's a song that has an interesting topic and is very hard to explain. Thinking about that song this way has changed my image about it. It's still a good song though, and to me, kinda touching. -

I agree with the first interpretation that goes verse by verse. But to all the people who thought the kamikaze was the bomb...it's not. Adam's talking about the Holy Spirit because kamikaze meant divine wind.

Well, I think it means he's not scared of anything and will do right even if it costs him his life (kamikaze gives that). HOW I pictured it. You know what, I'm just go right out and say it. I'm an atheist, ok?

Also, to clearify, this song has nothing to do with suicide bombers or WW1. "Kamikaze" roughly translates from Japanese to English as "God wind". It was just happenstance that the WW1 suicide bombers called themselves such.

To add to the first one, I believe "I'm not afraid to die alone" goes hand in hand with "kamikaze over me" because kamikazes were suicide bombers so he is not afraid to die alone and he will "come alive" in heaven again.
