   this song is about a person who is insecure and feels alone, and just wishes people would talk to him(i wish plant life would grow all around me so I wont feel dead anymore). he uses his imagination to keep himself company (I saw a bear in the den), and discovers that life is beautiful and full of magic(i'd rather waltz than just walk through the forest), but he is still shy and doesn't know how to talk to the person he likes(if I were to pluck on your heartstrings would you strum on mine?), but wants them to know how wonderful they are(your spirit is sweet so throw off your sheet).

   It's about how life can feel scary and forlorn like a haunted house, but that even in the midst of terror, loneliness, insecurity, etc., Jesus Christ is still at work and is the Ultimate Hope shining through the darkness and bringing beauty. This is one of Adam's most subtle, yet most brilliant, Christian songs, imho.

   I think its about loneliness. The man in the haunted house desires a companion, not necessarily in the romantic sense. He feels alone and when the companion comes in his life, he feels less afraid since he has someone with him.

   This is a song about a lost love or crush that Adam had when he was younger, but he never told her and now he is reminiscing about her and wishing he asked her

   I think Plant Life describes life as a haunted house. I think it says that you have to fight to escape and discover the beauty, or "plant life" that surrounds us all

   I believe the song is about loss it doesn't have to be of a loved one it can just be loss maybe Adam was lost at a point in his life and he is singing about that time and how he felt at the time not everything that has a heart and the word love have to do with a girlfriend or a lover it could be his connection with life or music

   He lives in a hunted house alone and he feels lonely and want the plants to grow around him, so he won't feel so death; but he find out that in the house there is another ghost and he ask it to be near to him so they won't be alone and stop feeling death

   Adam said in an interview this song is about "A likable guy that's trapped in a haunted house." Knowing this, the lyrics should be pretty self-explanatory.

   I think it may be about a guy who thinks he lost his girlfriend (or just a dear friend, or someone he loves) and wishes things would change and take on a brighter light. He's trying to find fun in things around him, so that he can get over his "pain", but every thing is probably ok. :)

    I think that his girlfriend died or commit suicide and he's saying if a love one die's it ok to cry but you dont always have to feel pain and sorrow, such a cute song =]really deep lyric's, love it!!!!!!

    Plant life is about getting over a lost love. The man in the song (which we can assume is Adam) is revisiting a "haunted house" and a "ghost" of his past. He wants to be able to live again the way he used to. He is desperately lonely and keeps thinking of what he once was. The plants represent the joy and vitality that he wishes to obtain.
