   even if brendon urie said in an interview it was about feeling cocky and going out with your friends i honestly think is about ryan(former guitarist and lyricist).

   -this may refer on their numerous musicaland creative differences(the reason of the split)and how ryan was the one who created the main words and symphonies for the albums and now brendon hast to do that.

   "The lyrics kind of talk about just the idea of, umm.. you know when you're feeling like, kind of cocky and you're out with your friends, and you're like yeahh! we're gunna kill it tonight. this is gunna be awesome! and that was really what it was about!"

   full of expert nods and cross references
   but there's the contrast of a
   rhythmically driving light mood
   between mercenary and
   that green gentleman
   because it's an inspiring song

   I've always thought of the song being used as a war song, to motivate soldiers in a dark twisted way. But hey if Brendon says it's about fun it's about fun.

   If I had to compare the similarities of this song and Anthony Burgess's book 'A Clock Work Orange', I'd hope the lot of you would see many similarities. The line "show them all we're not the ordinary type" is exactly what the main character Alex Delarge and his crew were doing essentially.
   The first verse reminds me of after Alex is brainwashed, especially the last two lines, "cold and alone, it suits you well" Exactly what Alex is after the treatment, unable to rejoin his crew. "you wont find me perching here again" similar to the previous, he's no longer capable of violence or sexual acts, so he can no longer perch with his crew
