Moonsickness Lyrics

There's so much to do
I'll never have the wherewithal
To do it all again
Or fucking do it all at all
I love you so much
I don't wanna go but
Everybody knows this place is dying as am I
I might not get another change
It's such a careful...

This song encapsulates the misery of living under late stage capitalism, especially in 2020. The overwhelming feeling that “there’s so much to do” to fix our world, to prevent the “death of all deaths,” but that we are not capable of doing it. People born in this new century are expected to “rearrange the stars” in just 100 hours, likely a reference to the Doomsday Clock. The Doomsday Clock is an estimate by scientists of how close humans are to global catastrophe, represented as minutes to midnight. In early 2020, that clock moved to just 100 seconds before midnight. So, how are young people supposed to cope in a world that you know “in your gut” is “all destroyed.” How can you bring a child into this world? We justify capitalism by claiming it’s “atomistic rational behavior,” directed by the “invisible hand savior” of the market. But the truth is, “nobody belongs in this Hell,” and you’re lying to kids when you tell them they can be whatever they want, or even that there’s a future for humanity at all. There are no ideological frameworks to adopt because “there’s nothing to believe in, and there won’t be until we fall.” All of this may make you wonder if life is worth living at all, and Scott certainly flirts with death throughout the song. The first two paragraphs are addressed to loved ones who will miss her when she’s gone, but she finally decides that “if the beast refuses to die, then I guess well neither can I.”

I think she aborted and she's feeling guilty. When she says "You could have a boy" she literally could, but she decided not having. And in "who told you were selfish?" she's talking about the people who judged her.

I feel like this song is about a person who is in a serious relationship and suffers from mental health issues. the lyrics "could of had a boy" leads e to believe that the character was attempting to have a child, discovered it was male, and then had a miscarriage, which just worsened her mental condition. lyrics like "..I am such a fuck up.." etc. are her dealing with the miscarriage. I feel like the first section of the song is about her preparing for the birth of her baby, Eg. "There is si much to"

I feel as if the song is about someone who has many things to do, "There's so much to do.." This causes the person to feel like a mess, "I am God's worst mistake." "I am such a fuck up.." It also seems like some of the lyrics are part of a conversation with others, it appears that the person is in a relationship, "I love you so much," The person seems to know a mother, or someone who wanted to be a mother at one point, "You could have had a boy,"" If you have children now you think you might have put them down," The character appears to have had a conversation with what seems to be a selfless person but people mess up definitions/miss use words as said in the song, "..fucking up definitions.." The selfless person seems to had been told thy were selfish, "who fucking told you you were selfish, or even self interested? don't you think it matters when we wish our friends the best?"
The character comes off as a depressed female, "..death cramps.." This could imply period cramps, the character seems to be having depressive episodes, "..and depressions.."
There also seems to be an immortal beast, "but the beast refuses to die,"

idk man that song has a lot of things in it, no wonder nobody has submitted anything
