   I always thought it was about Mohammed Ali, sampling the great Stephen hawkings voice on a great album (which is getting better as I’m getting older) may have inspired them to include Ali...maybe not just a thought but I definitely don’t think it has anything to do with waters/gilmore I hope the remaining members can do something to help get the world back on its feet, pink floyd are more than a band

   I think has something to do with Roger Waters and the break up of the band.
   Waters tried to sue them for releasing an album using the Floyd name.
   So there was a lot of grudges there, thankfully though they all made up and reunited for Live8.

   we all understand that it is about the struggle in life and hate we build trying to achieve the goals.
   but Pink floyd did not compose this song just to tell us of something we already know.
   I would like you to understand the time they wrote the song, what was going on with them and what really happened to push them to write this song which is in my opinion the best song ever they made.
   the whole division bell was a response of a frustration pink floyd were suffering but no doubt they are for me the best band ever .

   This is probably one of my favorite songs off of the Division Bell. It's a song about anger, selfishness, and holding a grudge and how futile it is.
   "Can you see your days blighted by darkness?
   Is it true you beat your fists on the floor?
   Stuck in a world of isolation,
   While the ivy grows over the door,
   
   When someone is full of spite and holds a grudge he hurts no one but themselves. No one wants to be aroud someone who is seething with anger.

   When a person is so angry that it consumes
   them and they're alone the world doesn't stop for them. These 2 lines of the song are among my favorites that David Gilmour has sung.
